Background:with the growth of women's survival age, people's the requirement for the quality of life is improving, including ovarian cancer postoperative patients who have artificial menopause symptoms.they all need relevant supplementary treatment to improve the quality of life.Hormone replacement therapy(HRT)is one of the most efficient means to help alleviate climacteric symptoms associated with menopause, even so,it has some uncertainly factors in the routine use of HRT.The WHI reported significant increases in the incidence of breast cancer. However, data regarding HRT use and the risk of ovarian cancer in the worldwide are contradictory, the potential biological mechanism is not clear.some studies support an increased risk, and other studies reporting a decreased risk,or no association. However, the lethality of ovarian cancer is very high.So it is necessary to explore and summarize the link between ovarian cancer and HRT.Methods:This article search a lot of literatures, and by sorting, concluding and analysing these literatures to select representative, scientific and reliable document. To summarize present views, indicating the research status of the relationship between steroid and ovarian cancer,it can take a clear direction in this disputed field. Results:The link between ovarian cancer and HRT is unclear,we should chosen carefully as the specific case.It is relatively safe to use HRT on the postoperative patients if excluding the hazards. The clinical response rate of hormone treatment of ovarian cancer is low. Conclusion:Presently,HRT is still the most effective method to remit PMS.Relatively short-term exposure(for example,<5years)for their overall health is unlikely to have an adverse effect, therefore,HRT should continue to be used to relieve symptoms and improve quality of life, the benefits far outweighs the potential risk of very low.whether HRT use have an affect on ovarian cancer postoperative patients' prognosis, recurrence and survival rate, who with artificial menopause symptom.we should also be based on ovarian cancer histology, surgical pathological staging, age and other individual situation to weigh the pros and cons.Recently, hormone therapy for ovarian cancer is mainly used for patients with recurrent and drug-resistant,hasn't been found more optimistic curative effect.
