Research On The Construction Of Technology Transfer Mode In Medicine And Health Based On The Grounded Theory

Research BackgroundTechnology transfer in the field of medicine and health refers to circulation of valuable innovative achievements that are found in the process of understanding the phenomenon of life,disease development,disease prevention,treatment,and health promotion among different technology transfer stakeholders and eventually are transformed into material entities or technical methods to serve the people’s health.Medical technology transfer includes basic research,laboratory research,pilot study,preclinical research,clinical research,industrial research,market research,product implementation and other links.The transfer of technology takes place between two adjacent links.In recent years,China’s investment in the field of medical and health has increased year by year,the government and the community’s attention is also increasing,but China’s medical and health fields are still facing some issues such as low levels of technology transfer,imperfect industry chain system,shortage of management talents and so on.The above problems seriously hinder the level and effectiveness of technology transfer in medical and health areas.Compared to the United States,Germany and other western developed countries,there is still a very big gap in the level of technology transfer in medical and health areas in China.At present,the research object of technology transfer is mainly concentrated in universities,government and intermediaries in both domestic and foreign.The research contents include technology transfer status,influencing factors,evaluation system,intermediary service organization,patent technology transfer and technology transfer policy.There are no sub-areas,sub-professional research conducted in-depth and technology transfer research in medical and health is rare and simple.And these studies only study a link or element of the technology transfer process,do not regard technology transfer as a close process of multi-linkage,and pay more attention to the specific management method of technology transfer process,lacking of attention to the deep mechanism of technology transfer.The recommendations made in these studies were more abstract and less operational.Therefore,it is imperative to explore an efficient technology transfer model in medicine and health field.Research ObjectivesThis study,taking Guangdong Province as an example,studies the technology transfer model in the field of medicine and health,investigates some pharmaceutical enterprises,medical device enterprises,hospitals,medical universities and technology transfer platforms in Guangdong Province,and interviews with science and technology managers,pharmaceutical enterprise managers,relevant government departments staffs deeply to collect the first-hand information for the transfer of technology and understand the needs,expectations and difficulties in technology transfer of the stakeholders.Basing on the successful experience of the United States,Germany and other countries,form the operational mode of technology innovation and technology transfer that suitable for Guangdong Province,and proposed operational recommendations to guide science and technology innovation and technology transfer in medical and health.And last,optimize the environment of science and technology innovation in medical and health.Research MethodThis study takes the procedural grounded theory as the research method.In the process of data analysis using qualitative analysis software Nvivo11,it can improve the efficiency and accuracy of data analysis.Based on the requirement of originality and authenticity of the research data,this study obtains the first-hand research data through the questionnaire survey of the technology transfer stakeholders,the open-depth expert interviews and field research.A total of 400 questionnaires and 33,600 words of interview data were collected through questionnaires and open-depth expert interviews.The data obtained by questionnaire survey were analyzed by SPSS20 and Kruskal Wallis test.The interview data was analyzed by Nvivo11 qualitative analysis software.ResultsThrough the concept extraction of open coding,there are a total of 103 concepts,including the constituent elements of technology innovation and technology transfer mode in medical and health,such as building principles,construction measures and so on.Through association coding,eleven main categories were extraction,including interest distribution mechanism,intangible assets evaluation,the process of industrialization of medical science,technology achievements,the achievements of medical research,policy factors.Through the extraction of the core category of selective coding,five core categories of causal dimension,mediating dimension,principle dimension,measure dimension and medical technology transfer value chain were extracted,and the above five core categories constituted the theoretical blueprint of technology transfer mode in medical and health field.According to the results of the three-level code analysis,the cluster of the medical and health field with the value chain as the core is constructed.The core idea of this model is professional division of labor and multi-party cooperation.Each technology transfer body only undertakes an industrial chain part,and on the basis of resources and geographical clustering,the open and complementary innovation is formed.The model is composed of seven main rings,the value chain of industrialization of achievements is from the center to the periphery,and the main body of each ring in the value chain can carry out reciprocal communication in both vertical and horizontal directions.From the periphery to the center is the user/patient/market ring,clinician/hospital ring,basic R&D ring,third-party service agencies ring,applied R&D ring,small pharmaceutical company ring,large pharmaceutical company ring.Finally,the specific recommendations are put forward in eight aspects,including the technology transfer of the main cluster,adhere to the open,complementary innovation,adhere to the resource-intensive,adhere to market-oriented,extension of pharmaceutical technology transfer chain,construction of specialized personnel,construction of specialized medical technology service platform to provide a useful reference for the construction of technology transfer model in the field of medicine and health in Guangdong Province.
