BackgroundRecurrent respiratory tract infections is a common disease in children, with multiple, frequent infections, and last for a long time. This seriously affects children’s life, study and healthy development,so that bring a heavy burden to the family.According to statistics, under the age of 5 years old children suffering from acute upper respiratory tract infection probability was about 20%.Among them, suffering from the incidence of pneumonia was about 100 children per year for the 10 time in developing countries, but the number of children with recurrent pneumonia accounts for about 80%.In our country, the number of outpatients with recurrent respiratory tract infections accounts for about twenty percent of the total amount of respiratory tract infection,of which children under the age of 5 accounted for eighty percent. At present,it is thought that the pathogenesis is related to the factors such as respiratory anatomy and physiology, nutrient deficiency and immune function. In recent years, the research papers and reports on the relationship between the growth and development of the elements and the common diseases in children have been increased. However, most scholars focus on the level of a single nutrient in children with recurrent respiratory tract infections, while there is relatively less article on studying the content of vitamin A,vitamin D and two of the humoral immunity at home and abroad.ObjectiveIn this study,we observed the changes of serum vitamin A,vitamin D and immune function(Ig)in children with recurrent respiratory tract infection, and analyzed the correlation between the two and humoral immunity.Methods1.Object of study.Author chose during the period from July 2015 to April 2016 in First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical College of internal medicine inpatient and outpatient treatment in children with recurrent respiratory tract infection in 40 cases as research group, select the same period healthy children as a control group of 40 cases. The two groups were excluded from the congenital heart disease, allergic disease, asthma, tuberculosis, chronic lung disease, immunodeficiency disease and so on.The children did not take any vitamin A 、 vitamin D preparation, immune globulin and hormone in 4weeks.There was no significant difference in age and gender between the research group and control group.Specimen collection: fasting venous blood 4ml was extracted from all subjects.2.Detection of vitamin A、vitamin D and immune function Agilent1260 method was used to determine the content of vitamin A in serum and the vitamin D content in serum was determined by ELISA method. The content of Ig was determined by immune turbidimetry.3.Statistical analysis.Conduct statistical analysis with SPSS19.0.Measurement data are represented by mean±standard variation((?)±S);difference of two sample’s mean is caculated using in dependent sample t-test method;Author used Pearson statistical software to analysis correlation of vitamin A,vitamin D and humoral immunity, and P<0.05 indicates significant difference.Results1.The research group has a vitamin A of(0.88±0.22)μmol/L,and control group(1.06±0.24)μmol/L.It can be seen that experiment group has a significantly lower vitamin A than control group. The difference(t=3.44,P=0.01)is statistically meaningful.2.The research group of vitamin D(21.10 + 8.57)ng/ml was lower than the control group of vitamin D(22.41 + 5.29)ng/ml,and the statistics was found that the two groupshad no statistically significant difference(t=-0.822,P=0.415),and it is suggesting that the local children’s widespread lack of vitamin D.3.Except for IgM,IgA and IgG in the research group were significantly different from those were in the control group, and these were statistically significant(t= 4.44、2.38,P=0.00、0.02).4.There was a positive correlation between vitamin A and IgA(r=0.295,P=0.008),but no correlation with IgG,IgM(r=-0.001、-0.002,P=0.990、0.985);vitamin D and IgA,IgG and IgM were not significantly correlated(r= 0.025、0.061、-0.048,P=0.83、0.60、0.67).Conclusions1.The serum levels of VA,,IgA and RRTIs in children with IgG were lower than those in normal children, indicating that the timely supplementation of VA may reduce the occurrence of RRTIs.2.The study group and the control group of children with VD had no significant difference in the comparison, there was no significant correlation between VD and indexes of humoral immunity, but the relevant literature suggests that VD as a neuroendocrine hormone, has an important role in the regulation of immune cells, replenish VD,may reduce the occurrence of disease, and can improve children’s nutrition in the local state.3.VA is positively related to humoral immune IgA,indicating that VA has a more important role in maintaining stability and integrity of airway epithelial cells.
