Research On Inventory Model For Deteriorating Drugs With Shelf Life

With the rapid development of pharmaceutical enterprises and supporting pharmaceutical logistics in China,the supply chain plays an increasingly significant role in pharmaceutical industry.And inventory management which is an essential part of supply chain management is very important to healthy and stable development of pharmaceutical industry.As a result,pharmaceutical inventory management attracted the attention of more and more pharmaceutical business managers and related research scholars.It is the key to pharmaceutical inventory management that reducing the loss of stock drugs,ensuring drug quality and safety supervision,reasonable ordering and replenishment,optimizing the inventory structure and speeding up inventory turnover to avoid stock out and backlog.In recent years,there are many drug safety accidents.And the failure of drugs will have a serious impact on the pharmaceutical industry.Therefore,the research on inventory model for deteriorating drugs with shelf life can help hospitals and pharmaceutical companies to actively deal with drug ordering and storage strategy.And according to market demand it also can coordinate the order strategy to reduce the loss which caused by drugs deteriorated or out of stock.Based on the Economic Order Quantity(EOQ)model,this thesis takes the deteriorating drugs of liquid preparations as the research object.And it investigates continuous review inventory ordering strategy with considering the shelf life of deteriorating drugs in different lead time and demand.In this thesis we assume that drug shelf life should less than its remaining product expiration date when ordered.The thesis's features include mainly:On the one hand,we study deteriorating drugs inventory and establish corresponding inventory model from a new point of view.On the other hand,we take particularity of the drug into consideration and add it to the constraint.The thesis enriches the relevant research in this field.It also helps to improve drug inventory management of pharmaceutical companies and hospital and hospitals efficiency,while reducing medical malpractice caused by lack of drugs or drugs failure.
