Selection And Use Of Database In Clinical Efficacy Evaluation Of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Objective: Based on the characteristics of the database and the applicable scope,and combined with the characteristics of the clinical research of TCM,we can select appropriate database and apply with it.Moreover,we can make demonstration for the choice of database in the clinical efficacy evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine.Methods: Summarize the advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of database and the applicable scope,and analyze the characteristics of the data of clinical efficacy evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine,and select the appropriate database.Epidata2.03 software,is adopted to establish the hospital patients with acute myocardial infarction(mi)cohort database,and then test the practicability of database through epidemiological investigation.Results: 1.Access database,Oracle database and SQL Server database is more common used than other types of database in the cross-platform and scientific research,and Epidata database is more applicable in the study of basic scientific research,and the relation database and memory database have wide application for the university library management,real-time database and object-oriented database are widely used in the field of commercial and industrial areas.2.Establish the database of cohort study of patients in the traditional Chinese medicine hospital with acute myocardial infarction(MI),and collect for the general information of patients,complications,usage of traditional Chinese medicine and the events of end points,and select the end indicators of myocardial infarction(MI)of hospitalization and follow-up periods.The primary end point indicators during hospitalization are cardiac death and severe arrhythmia,while during follow-up periods are cardiac death,and infarction.Conclusion: Database has played an important role in the clinical efficacy evaluation oftraditional Chinese medicine.But in order to better meet the needs of clinical efficacy evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine,the database still need improvements.
