Objective: This study investigated knowledge, attitude, practice and influencing factors about seasonal influenza and seasonal influenza vaccine among healthcare workers(HCWs)in different levels of medical institutions in Qingdao to reach objectives as follows: 1.Understanding HCWs’ knowledge, attitude and practice regarding seasonal influenza and seasonal influenza vaccine in different levels of medical institutions in Qingdao.2.Comparing the differences in the knowledge, attitude and practice regarding seasonal influenza and seasonal influenza vaccine among HCWs in different levels of medical institutions in Qingdao,Shandong Province;and comparing the attitude regarding seasonal influenza and seasonal influenza vaccine between vaccinated HCWs and unvaccinated HCWs.3.Exploring influencing factors for HCWs’ knowledge, attitude and practice regarding influenza and influenza vaccine;exploring whether HCWs’ knowledge and attitude regarding influenza and influenza vaccine will affect their vaccination intention and their behavior of recommending the patient to get vaccinated. Methods: The data of this study are based on the survey data “knowledge, attitude and practice survey of healthcare workers on influenza and influenza vaccine”of China National Health Development Research Center.Purposive sampling and stratified cluster sampling was adopted and 1520 HCWs from 10 different levels of medical institutions were chosen as research objects to conducted this questionnaire survey.Descript social demographic characteristics,HCWs’ knowledge, attitude and practice regarding influenza and influenza vaccine.Chi—square test and logistic regression model were used for analyzing influencing factors of HCWs’ knowledge, attitude vaccination intention and their behavior of recommending the patient to get vaccinated. Results: 1.The correctness rate of 4 questions related knowledge of influenza and influenza vaccine among HCWs was only 6.64%。The correctness rate of primary hospitals was the highest(10.59%).There are 701(46.12)HCWs got low cognitive score on influenza and influenza vaccine knowledge.HCWs in primary hospital got high positive score on influenza and influenza vaccine knowledge(64.83%)was significantly more than secondary and tertiary hospital.Hospital levels, departments, occupations, the initiative to understand knowledge of influenza, the initiative to understand information of influenza vaccine and the level of mastery of flu vaccine information have a statistically significant difference.2.There are some misunderstandings in the HCWs’ attitude towards seasonal influenza vaccine.Only 40.39% of the HCWs considered influenza vaccine safe,37.76% of them worried about side effects of the vaccine, and 8.36% of them believed flu vaccine can cause the flu.The degree of worry about influenza vaccine in primary hospital was significantly lower than secondary and tertiary hospital. The awareness of flu vaccines can affect the degree of worry and the emotional benefits about influenza vaccine.3.Only 6.45% of the HCWs had vaccinated influenza vaccine during the 2012-2013 influenza season. The influenza vaccination rate in Qingdao is lower than other cities. The influenza vaccination rate in primary hospital(13.14%)was significantly higher than the secondary and tertiary hospital.Hospital levels, influenza vaccination experience for prior 3 years, whether agree with trusting guidelines by the CDC that recommend that all health care workers get an annual influenza vaccination and other factors may have a statistically significant influence on the behavior of HCWs getting vaccinated.4.In the survey, the vaccination intention of 2013-2014 influenza season was generally low, with 68.75% of HCWs indicated unlikely to be vaccinated during 2013-2014 flu season;and only 4.21% HCWs indicated have a high likelihood to be vaccinated during 2013-2014 flu season. The proportion of modreate likelihood be vaccinated during 2013-2014 flu season among HCWs in primary hospital was significantly higher than secondary and tertiary hospital. The proportion of high likelihood to be vaccinated during 2013-2014 flu season among HCWs in primary hospital was significantly higher than tertiary hospital.Influenza vaccination experience for prior 3 years, whether to take the initiative to understand the relevant knowledge of influenza and related information of influenza vaccine, whether got vaccinated during 2012-2013 influenza season, whether had recommended patients to be vaccinated and other factors may have a statistically significant influence on the vaccination intention of 2013-2014 influenza season.5.In the survey,48.36% of HCWs had recommended patients to be vaccinated.HCWs had recommended patients to be vaccinated in primary hospital was significantly more than secondary and tertiary hospital.Hospital levels, work experience, influenza vaccination experience for prior 3 years and vaccination intention have a statistically significant influence on HCWs’ behavior of recommending patients to be vaccinated. Conclusion: 1.The current level of knowledge and attitude about seasonal influenza and seasonal influenza vaccine among HCWs in Qingdao is low;HCWs’ knowledge and attitude about seasonal influenza and seasonal influenza vaccine in different levels of medical institutions are difference.2.There are some misunderstandings in the HCWs’ attitude towards seasonal influenza vaccine. The degree of worry about influenza vaccine in different levels of medical institutions is difference.3.In Qingdao influenza vaccination rates among HCWs remain very low,the influenza vaccination rate in different levels of medical institutions is difference.HCWs’ knowledge and attitude may influence the behavior of HCWs getting vaccinated.4.The vaccination intention of 2013-2014 influenza season was generally low,The proportion of modreate likelihood be vaccinated during 2013-2014 flu season among HCWs in primary hospital was significantly higher than secondary and tertiary hospital. The proportion of high likelihood to be vaccinated during 2013-2014 flu season among HCWs in primary hospital was significantly higher than tertiary hospital.HCWs’ knowledge and attitude may influence the vaccination intention of 2013-2014 influenza season.5.The proportion of HCWs had recommended patients to be vaccinated was low.HCWs’ knowledge and attitude may influence HCWs’ behavior of recommending patients to be vaccinated.
