Teucrium viscidum Bl.,belonging to the family Lamiaceae,which is distributed in China,Japan,India and Philippines.The whole plants are used as a traditional folk medicine to treat hematemesis,traumatic injuries,pulmonary abscesses and bite from rabid dog or venomous snakes.Blumea balsamifera DC.,belonging to the Blumea DC.of Compositae,also known as sambong,is widely distributed throughout Southeast Asia,such as China,Malaysia,Thailand and Vietnam.B.balsamifera DC.mainly contain L-borneol,has been used as a crude Chinese tradition medicinal material to treat eczema,dermatitis,menorrhagia and rheumatism.In order to discover structure interesting bioactive compounds from Chinese medicinal herbs,we conducted a systematical study on the chemical constituents of Teucrium viscidum Bl.and Blumea balsamifera DC..The compounds were isolated and purifies with silica gel column(CC),thin layer chromatography(TLC),preparation thin layer chromatography(PTLC),Sephadex LH-20 and MCI gel.The structure were characterized by extensive spectroscopic methods,such as HR-ESI-MS,1D-NMR,2D-NMR,IR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses.Finally,7known compounds along with 2 new compounds were isolated from Teucrium viscidum Bl.,eighteen known compounds were isolated from Blumea balsamifera DC..Two new compounds were tested for anti-Alzheimer Disease(AD)bioactivities.Caenorhabditis elegans can display AD-like paralysis induced by A? toxicity after bring transferred with the human gene of the A?1-42 downstream of the muscle promoter.Such transgenic worms have been widely used to detect the bioactivity of tested compounds for anti-AD.Therefore,we used C.elegans as an AD pathological model to evaluate the bioactivity of the new compounds.The results showed that ZY-01 did not delay worm paralysis,but ZY-02 significantly delayed worm paralysis,suggesting that ZY-02 possessed anti-AD bioactivity.Finally,we have summarized chemical compositions and biological activities ofB.balsamifera DC.,we want to provide sufficient evidence for phytochemical researches and medicinal purposes development value.
