Objective: To compare and analyze the curative effect and safety of dexamethasone combined with low-dose propranolol and simple low-dose propranolol in the treatment of infants with facial and neck hemangiomas.Additionally,to detectthe effect of dexamethasone combined with low-dose propranolol in the treatment of infantshemangiomas on serum vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF).Methods: Thirty-two infants with facial and neck hemangiomas from the department of Pediatric Surgery,Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical College and Stomatological Hospital of Zunyi Medical College from February 2015 to November 2016 were enrolled. They aged from one month to one years old, including 15 males and 17 females. They were do blood routine examination, electrolytes, liver and kidney function, blood sugar, coagulation, cardiac ultrasound and other tests before medication, and routine laboratory tests were no abnormalities.According to the inclusion criteria, all patients were divided into test group and control group.Sixteen patients were includededin the test group, intravenous infusion of dexamethasone combined with oral propranolol was used. The dexamethasone was used at a dose of 0.3 mg / kg / day,one time a day for 3 days.Propranololwasused for oral administration and was given at a dose of 2.0 mg / kg / d and1 day / day for 6 months. The lefet sixteen patients in the control group was treated with oral administration of propranolol at a dose of 2.0 mg / kg / d,1 time for a day, treated for6 months. The safety indexes of liver disease and liver function and hear tratewere analyzed before and after treatment. To analyze the effect ofthe levels about VEGF in serum. Results:The overall effective rate was 93.75% in the test group and 81.25% in the control group. There was significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).At 1 week after treatment, the serum VEGF level in the test group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P< 0.05).After treatment, there was no significant difference of VEGF levels in serum between the two groups(P> 0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment(P> 0.05).Before and after taking drug on the fist day,the heart rate of the control group decreased, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).On the second day after treatment 2h of the controlgroup, the hear trate of the children showed no differences(P> 0.05).Before and aftertaking drug, there was no difference in the experimental group(P>0.05).Conclusion:The curative effect of Low-dose glucocorticoid combined with low-dose propranolol is superior to the use of low-dose propranolol alonein the treatment of infantile hemangioma. However,Its safety showed no difference with simple low-dose propranolol in the treatment of infant hemangioma.
