Objective: To explore the possible neurodevelopmental effects of the postnatal polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)exposure on the children at the age of 12 months. Methods: The epidemiological data were collected by questionnaire.Gesell Development Inventory(GDI)was selected for the measures of child neurodevelopment.LC-MS /MS was used to determine 1-hydroxy naphthalene,2-hydroxy naphthalene,2-hydroxy fluorene,1-hydroxy fen,2-hydroxy fen,3-hydroxy fen,4-hydroxy fen,9-hydroxyl fen,1-hydroxy pyrene and 6-hydroxy toin in the first morning urine at the age of 12 months.PAH-DNA adducts were determined in extracted white blood cell DNA by Oxi Select? BPDE DNA Adduct ELISA K its.Multiple amplification technology was used to determine GSTM1-02 genotype and other SNPs of the main metabolic enzymes were sequenced by Sequenom Mass Array system. Results: The mean scores of adaptive, gross motor, fine motor, language and personal social behaviors were 96~104,and percentages of the developmental quotient less than 90 were 2.0%~9.8%.The detection rates of 10 OH-PAHs were 48%~97%,and the PAH-DNA were 52.4%.The negative correlation coefficients were found for 2-hydroxynaphthalene and 2-hydroxyfluorene with DQ of personal social behaviors(r:-0.132,-0.130,respectively);for PAH-DNA levels with adaptive motor, gross motor, finger motor, and personal social behaviors(r:-0.164,-0.166,-0.171,-0.181,respectively).Both rs1048943 and rs2606345 of CYP1A1,rs762551 of CYP1A2 and rs7483 of GSTM3 all showed correlation with the DQs of some domains.Multiple linear regression analysis indicated no significant association for OH-PAHs at the age of 12 months, but significant associations were found for PAH-DNA with DQs of adaptive, gross motor, fine motor, and personal social behaviors with ?(95%CI)-0.314(-0.591,-0.036),-0.461(-0.801,-0.121),-0.565(-0.920,-0.210)and-0.540(-0.873,-0.206),respectively.rs762551 of CYP1A2 also showed significant association with gross motor behaviors,P = 0.028.Conclusion: O ur results confirm the neurodevelopmental effects of prenatal PAH exposure, and suggest the importance of the SNPs of the metabolic and detoxifying enzyme genes in infants. The possible neurodevelopmental impacts of postnatal PAHs exposure at the age of 12 months still should pay more attention to test by increasing the sample size and prospectively investigating the point in time for the possible lag effects.
