Objective To study the correlation between pulmonary surfactant protein B?C gene exon4 area`s gene mutation and The Mongolian premature infants with respiratory distress syndrome in Inner Mongolia.Methods Recruited 50 unrelated Mongolian RDS premature infants(28 weeks ? gestational age <37 weeks)in our ward as cases group(31 male and 19female),and chose another 50 unrelated Mongolian non-RDS premature infants(28 weeks ?gestational age <37 weeks)from same time,same nation and same groups at our hospital neonatal ward as control group(27 male and 23 female).Use polymerase chain reaction gene polymorphism analysis and gene detection technology to sequence SP-B gene and SP-C gene exon4 area respectively.At last,researched whether is there any significant difference between the two group on gene mutation and genotype frequency of SP-1580 B gene exon4 area and SP-C gene exon4 area C.571 C > A(T138N).Results SP-B exon4 area 1580 locus detected 14 mutations in case group,the mutation rate was 28%.SP-B exon4 area 1580 locus detected 11 mutations in control group,the mutation rate was 22%.There was no statistically significant difference between two groups(x2 = 0.480,P > 0.05),SP-B exon4 area 1580 locus can be checked out three genotypes: namely CC,TT and CT,genotype frequency of RDS group was 16%,72% and 12% respectively.The C allele frequency was 22%,and the T allele frequency was 78%.The three genotype frequency of non-RDS group was 10%,78% and12%.The C allele frequency was 16%,and T allele frequency was 84%.There was no statistically significant difference alleles variations between the two groups.(x2 = 1.170,P >0.05)While SP-C gene exon4 area C.571 C > A(T138N)locus detected 41 mutations in RDS group,the mutation rates was 82%,SP-C gene exon4 area C.571 C > A(T138N)locus detected 6 mutations in non-RDS group,the mutation rates was 12%,so there has statistically significant difference between two groups(x2 = 49.177,P < 0.05).SP-C gene exon4 area C.571 C > A(T138N)locus can be checked out three genotypes: namely CC?AA?AC type,RDS group genotype frequencies of these three genotypes were 18%,50% and 32%respectively.C allele frequency was 34%,and A allele frequency was 66%.Genotype frequencies of RDS group were 88%,8% and 4% respectively.C allele frequency was 90%,A allele frequency was 10%.A allele genotype frequency of RDS group at SP-C gene exon4 area C.571 C > A(T138N)significantly higher than that of non-RDS group.There was thedifference alleles variations statistically significant.(x2 = 66.553,P < 0.05).Conclusions SP-B exon4 area 1580 locus gene mutation had no correlation with Inner Mongolia Mongolian premature RDS.But SP-C gene exon4 area C.571 C > A(T138N)locus mutation related to Inner Mongolia Mongolian premature RDS.Individuals who carrying SP-C gene exon4 area C.571 C > A(T138N)A alleles have higher risk of suffering from RDS.
