In the process of viral hepatitis, lymphocytes migrate and infiltrate to liver tissues infected with hepatitis virus, which is important to antiviral immune response and inflammatory reaction. However, the pathogenesis is still poorly understood.CXCL(CXC chemokine ligand)10 is a popular chemokine at present, its' receptor is CXCR3.The interaction between CXCL10 and CXCR3 has been a breakthrough in the mechanism of occurrence and development of viral hepatitis. This paper will review the research advances of CXCL10 in the progression of disease and the evaluation of anti-virus efficacy in viral hepatitis.CXCL10,which is known as interferon-gamma inducible protein 10,belongs to the CXC ELR-chemokine.CXCL10 plays the role by combining CXCR3,the main functions include promoting cell chemotaxis, inducing apoptosis and regulating cell growth and proliferation and regulation of angiogenesis.Multiple studies show that the expression of serum and liver CXCL10 increased after HBV and HCV infection,And that the level of CXCL10 increased with the aggravation of liver inflammation and fibrosis, which suggest that CXCL10 may play an important role in the pathological process of liver damage. In the application of anti HBV and HCV after drug treatment, the serum level of CXCL10 decreased gradually, suggesting that CXCL10 may play an important role in viral clearance process, and it is found that the serum CXCL10 levels at baseline and decline during treatment may effectively predict the antiviral effect. However, the mechanism of CXCL10 in the pathogenesis of viral hepatitis and its mechanism in antiviral therapy are not clear.Further studies are needed.
