| Objective: This study was to explore the adaptive modulation of brain in structure and function to high altitude based on voxel-based morphometry method(VBM),amplitude of low frequency fluctuation(ALFF)and regional homogeneity(Re Ho)method.Materials and Methods: Resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-f MRI)of brain was respectively performed in 19 normal adults who moved to high altitude within a week, they have matched age and education level. The same scan was performed twice in them one year later. The VBM、ALFF and Re Ho methods were adopted to analyze the functional MRI dataResults:There were no significant difference in brain structure between the two groups. There were significant differences in brain function of resting state.Subjects stayed in high altitude for one year had increased ALFF in left middle frontal gyrus and decreased ALFF in right lingual gyrus, increased Re Ho in the left orbital frontal gyrus and decreased Re Ho in right cuneus, right superior parietal gyrus. Conclusion: There were significant changes in brain function of normal adult after stayed in high altitude for one year, which might be associated with long-term chronic hypoxia. |
