Objective: To compare the level of hypoxia inducible factor-1alpha(HIF-1?)and hypoxia inducible factor-2alpha(HIF-2?)between patients with obstructive sleep apnea/ hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS)and healthy people,in order to understand the change and significance of the serum HIF-1?.and HIF-2? under chronic intermittent hypoxic in patients with OSAHS.Methods: 41 cases of Han male patients with OSAHS who were diagnosed by polysomnography(PSG)in Affiliated Hospital of Qinghai University were enrolled from December 2015 to December 2016.32 cases of healthy people with normal physical examination results and excluded sleep disorders by PSG were selected as control group. These two groups were matched with age, gender and residential elevation.Venous blood was collected in the morning on an empty, and the concentration of HIF-1? and HIF-2? in serum were detected by quantitative enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results: 1.The apnea-hypopnea index, oxygen desaturation index and the percentage of time blow 90% Sp O2 in OSAHS groups were significantly higher than that in control group(P<0.001),respectively([57.8(29.9,70.8)]/h vs.[1.5(1.0,2.3)]/h),([59.4(33.3,75.7)]/h vs.[3.0(1.5,5.2)]/h),and([84.0(37.8,95.9)]% vs.[1.7(0.4,12.4)]%);but the mean pulse oxygen saturation, lowest pulse oxygen saturation and morning pulse oxygen saturation were significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.001),respectively([87.0(83.0,89.5)]% vs.[92.0(91.0,92.8)]%),([65.0(54.5,72.5)]% vs.[85.5(83.3,86.0)]%)and([90.0(88.5,92.0)]% vs.[94.0(93.0,96.0)]%).2.There was no significant difference of HIF-1? and HIF-2? in serum between OSAHS group and control group(P>0.05),respectively([21.357(15.330,23.446)]pg/m L vs.[19.016(13.274,22.812)]pg/m L),([52.121(30.932,57.003)]pg/m L vs.[41.642(36.242,44.841)]pg/m L).3.The expression of HIF-1?and HIF-2? in serum of patients with OSAHS has no correlation with apnea-hypopnea index, mean pulse oxygen saturation, lowest pulse oxygen saturation, the percentage of time blow 90% SpO2 and morning pulse oxygen.saturation(P>0.05).Conclusions: There was no significant difference of HIF-1? and HIF-2? between OSAHS group and control group, which was considered that the expression of HIF-1? and HIF-2? might be pulsed in intermittent hypoxia. The level of the morning blood oxygen saturation can not stimulized the expression of HIF-1? and HIF-2?.It is also indicated that the serum which was taken in early morning awake can not fully reflect the change of nocturnal intermittent hypoxia in OSAHS.
