Expression And Meaning Of MTDH And ?-catenin In Ocular Adnexal MALT Lymphoma

AIM: To investigate the expression of MTDH and ?-catenin in mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue(MALT)lymphoma of ocular adnexal and its clinical significance.METHODS: Resected specimens were collected from patients suffering from ocular adnexal MALT lymphoma(n=30)and ocular adnexal lymphadenosis(n=20)in Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University from June 1999 to December 2015.Lymphadenosis of ocular adnexal was acted as the control group.PCR and immunohistochemistry were employed to examine the MTDH and ?-catenin m RNA and protein expression.And the clinical pathological characteristics were analyzed.RESULTS: The expression of m RNA of MTDH and ?-catenin in ocular adnexal MALT lymphoma was higher than that in control group(P<0.01).The positive rates of MTDH protein in MALT lymphoma was higher than that in control group(50%vs10%,P<0.05).And the positive expression of ?-catenin in MALT lymphoma was higher than that in lymphadenosis,too(26.67%vs0,P<0.05).The expression of MTDH and ?-catenin proteins were related to Ann Arbor clinical stage of ocular adnexal MALT lymphoma,but not related to age,gender or pathogenic site.And there was a positive correlation between MTDH and ?-catenin in ocular adnexal MALT lymphoma(r=0.452,P=0.035).CONCLUSION: The positive expression of MTDH and ?-catenin increases as the Ann Arbor clinical stage become higher.Over expression of MTDH and ?-catenin may play a significant role in ocular adnexal MALT lymphoma.And the relationship between MTDH and ?-catenin was positive.
