Objective:To research the characteristics of autonomic nervous system in women with menopausal syndrome by short-term heart rate variability. Also,to research the changes of autonomic nervous system between premenopause and postmenopause in women without menopausal syndrome. Methods:Menopause women aged from forty to sixty were collected from the First Hospitol of Shanxi Medical University in mouths from march 2016 to October 2016.Fifty-seven cases diagnosed menopausal syndrome from Department of Gynaecology Clinic were enrolled in the symptomatic group(group A).Other sisty-one menopause women without menopausal syndrome selected from Center of Health Examination were enrolled as asymptomatic group(group B).Meanwhile, group B were divided into premenopause group(group B1)and postmenopause group(group B2)according to their amenorrhea. For evaluation of heart rate variability(HRV),we recorded electrocardiogram for 5minutes in the resting state, and the HRV was analyzed by four indicators: high frequency power(HF),low frequency power(LF),the normalized low frequency power(LF%)and ratio of LF to HF(LF/HF).Compared group A and group B,also group B1 and group B2 by two independent samples t test. Results:Comparison between group A and group B: compared with group B,HF wassignificantly higher in group A(P<0.05),while LF/HF and LF% were lower than those in group B(P<0.05).Comparison between group B1 and group B2: HF and LF was lower in group B2 than those in group B1(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with the negative symptoms women, the women with menopausal syndromes showed a greater increase in parasympathetic nerve activity, while a greater reduction in sympathetic nerve activity, and the parasympathetic nerve function was in a dominant position.Compared with the premenopause women, sympathetic nerve function was in a dominant position in postmenopause women without menopausal syndrome, most likely due to the decrease of parasympathetic modulation.
