Objective:To analysis the correlation between triglyceride and myocardial infarction in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and to further investigate the residual risks of cardiovascular events associated with triglyceride. Methods:A total of 218 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus with low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)<2.0mmol / L at this hospital were enrolled in this retrospective study from February 2016 to July 2016,including the group of 112 patients combined with myocardial infarction, the group of 106 patients without myocardial infarction as the control group,to study the medical histories and some biochemical indexes between the two groups. Results:The history of drinking history, history of hypertension, total cholesterol(TC),triglyceride(TG),body mass index were significantly higher in the group of type 2diabetes mellitus patients combined with myocardial infarction than in the control group(p<0.05);the difference of high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)lower than that of the control group(p<0.05)were statistically significant;multivariate stepwise Logistic regression on the myocardial infarction cases, the result showed that hypertension, cholesterol, and triglyceride were risk factors of myocardial infarction. Conclusion:Triglyceride is an independent risk factor for myocardial infarction, when combined with hypertriglyceridemia, there is still a residual risks of cardiovascular events of myocardial infarction in type 2 diabetic patients with normal LDL-C level.
