| ObjectiveTo learn the main factors in the blood discarding in Suzhou Blood Center,and then to discuss the effective measures to reduce the waste of blood.Methods Collect all data on blood collection and preparation information in Suzhou city center blood bank from 2011-2016,and classify and recognize the main reasons in causing the blood discarding.Results From 2011-2016,a total of 597546 U blood were collected for use in preparation,and a total of 38405 U blood were discarded with the average total rejection rate of 6.43%.The discarded rate showed a declining trend(P<0.0001).A total of 21454 U blood failed in blood test,the scrapping rate was 3.59%,and the amount accounted for 55.86%.The unqualified ALT(1.02%),anti-TP positive(0.89%)and HBsAg positive(0.81%)were the main reasons.A total of 16952 U blood were discarded due to non unqualified cause,accounting for 44.14%,and the rate was 2.84%.The main reasons were the fat blood,inadequate amount,hemolysis,breakage,and so on.From 2011-2016,in Suzhou city a total of 443090 people donated blood,the ALT single failed 2125 times,the average rejection rate was 0.48%,Each year from 2011 to 2016,the ALT unqualified rate of males were 0.54%,0.52%,0.44%,0.63%,0.52%,0.42%,the ALT unqualified rate of females were 0.53%,0.30%,0.33%,0.45%,0.56%,0.37%.Male ALTunqualified rate was significantly higher than that in female,Among those aged in 18-25 and those aged in 26-35,ALT had the highest unqualified rate.HBsAg single failed 2125 times,the average rejection rate was 0.45%,The positive rate of HBsAg in males were 0.42%,0.61%,0.57%,0.53%,0.46%,0.43%,and the positive rate of HBsAg in females were 0.39%,0.55%,0.44%,0.35%,0.33%,0.24%,male HBsAg positive rate was significantly higher than that of women.The highest positive rate of HBs Ag was in 36-45 and 46-55 years of age.The anti-HCV single failed 1351 times,the average rejection rate was0.31%,male anti-HCV positive rates were 0.32%,0.32%,0.32%,0.42%,0.32%,0.27%.The positive rate of anti-HCV in females were 0.29%,0.27%,0.26%,0.33%,0.21%,0.25%,male anti-HCV positive rate was significantly higher than that of females.The highest positive rate of anti-HCV was in 18-25 and 55-60 years of age.Syphilis was positive in 1324person-times.the average rejection rate was 0.30%.Thepositive rate of male syphilis were 0.21%,0.23%,0.25%,0.47%,0.34%,0.26%,the positive rate of female syphilis were 0.29%,0.28%,0.22%,0.36%,0.39%,0.34%.The positive rate of femaleswas higher than males,and the highest positive rate was in 55-60 years of age,HIV was positive in 326 times,the average rejection rate was 0.075%,the positive rate of HIV in maleswere 0.01%,0.01%,0.04%,0.21%,0.09%,0.10%.Since 2013,the positive rate of HIV in females were 0.03%,0.20%,0.10%,0.11%.Male HIV positive rate slightly higher than women.The highest number of HIV was in the ages of 18-25 and 26-35.ConclusionALT unqualified and HBsAg positive were the main reasons in why donated blood were discarded.It is believed to be relative to blood donors’ lifestyle disorders,an un-balanced diet,and feculent sexual behavior.In order to improve the utilization efficiency of blood,intensive measures should be implemented,including frequent propaganda on blood donation,strengthened screening process,standardized blood collection procedure,staff training and more attention onto blood components. |
