Objective:To investigate the marital adjustment and depression of the women who had undergone artificial insemination by donor(AID).Materials and methods:This was a case-control study from July to December 2016.A total of 221 infertile women(128 AID-conceived women and 93 AIH-conceived women)and 183 control women without known fertility problems(nature conception,NC)were recruited.Participants provided demographic and infertility information and completed the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)and Spanier Dyadic Adjustment Scale(DAS).Results:AID group showed lower SDS scores in the facets of Affectional Expression(AE),Dyadic Consensus(DC),Dyadic Cohesion(AC)and Dyadic Satisfaction(DS)compared with AIH and NC group.AID group also showed lower DAS scores compared with AIH and NC group. In multiple regression analysis,DAS scores were significantly correlated with year of marriage, education level, occupation and SDS scores. Conclusions:Women with infertility endorsed significantly higher SDS scores,as well as lower DAS scores, compared with fertile women. The marital adjustment of AID women is lower than AIH women, significantly lower than fertile women..
