Part I Measurement of Glomerular Filtration Rate Using Multiphasic Computed Tomography in Patients with Unilateral Renal Tumors: a Feasibility StudyObjective:To investigate the feasibility of CT enhanced scan combined with a homemade software quantitative measurement of glomerular filtration rate(Glomerular filtration rate measurement based on computed tomography,CT-GFR).Materials and Methods:Ninety-five patients with unilateral renal tumors from February 2017 to December 2017 were included. All of them did not suffer from acute renal insufficiency. All patients underwent renal CT scans and serum creatinine(Serum Creatinine,Scr)tests preoperatively,of which 15 cases underwent additional radionuclide examination. All procedures were completed in 3 days without any related treatment.Total CT-GFR and relative CT-GFR,with or without renal tumors, were calculated by a homemade GFR quantitative software. The correlation and difference between total CT-GFR and estimated glomerular filtration rate(e GFR)was analyzed. The correlation and difference between relative CT-GFR and relative GFR measurement based on Radionuclide examination(Glomerular filtration rate measurement based on radionuclide examination,R-GFR)of split kidneys was also analyzed. Results:There was a linear correlation(r=0.89,p<0.001)between the value of total CT-GFR with the inclusion of renal tumors minus total CT-GFR with the exclusion of renal tumors and renal tumor volume.Values of CT-GFR measured with the exclusion of renal tumors showed a better correlation with e GFR(r=0.90,p<0.001)than the inclusion of renal tumors(r=0.88,p<0.001)in early renal parenchymal phase. The relative CT-GFR both for the non-tumor-bearing kidney(r=0.88,p<0.001)and for the tumor-bearing kidney(r=0.88,p<0.001)were highly correlated with the relative R-GFR.Conclusions:CT multiphasic enhanced scan provides a feasible method for accurate assessment of GFR in patients with renal tumors.Part II Glomerular filtration rate in patients with unilateralrenal tumors by enhanced CT scan with different scanning phase Objective:To study the different scanning phase effect on measuring glomerular filtration rate based on CT(glomerular filtration rate measurement based on CT,CT-GFR)in patients with unilateral renal tumors.Methods:Ninety-one patients with unilateral renal tumors from February 2017 to December 2017 were included. All of them did not suffer from acute renal insufficiency. All patients underwent renal CT scans and serum creatinine(Serum Creatinine,Scr)tests preoperatively. All procedures were completed in one days without any related treatment.Total CT-GFR,with or without renal tumors, were calculated by a homemade GFR quantitative software. The correlation between total CT-GFR and estimated glomerular filtration rate(e GFR)was analyzed by Pearson's method.Total CT-GFR was calculated in early and late renal parenchymal phases respectively with or without renal tumors. Results:Values of CT-GFR,exclusion of renal tumors(r=0.90,p<0.001)or inclusion of renal tumors(r=0.88,p<0.001)measured in early renal parenchymal phase showed a better correlation with e GFR than the values of CT-GFR,exclusion of renal tumors(r=0.81,p<0.001)or inclusion of renal tumors(r=0.79,p<0.001)measured in late renal parenchymal phase. Conclusions:The correlation between CT-GFR and e GFR was better in early renal parenchyma phase measurement than in late renal parenchyma phase.
