Objective:(1)The clinical observation of senile skin pruritus(blood deficiency and wind-dryness type),through acupuncture and drug combination is used to explore the possible mechanism.(2)To observe the changes of serum levels of IL-2 and IL-10 before and after treatment of senile skin pruritus, and to explore the effect of combination of acupuncture and medicine on the balance of Th1/Th2 in patients with senile skin pruritus.Method:Recruited patients diagnosed as senile skin pruritus in the first hospital in wuhan city and TCM syndrome differentiation was blood deficiency and wind-dryness type,a total of 40 cases.Adopting digital random table method were randomly divided into an acupuncture-drug group and a western medicine group,20 cases each.At the same time,20 healthy elderly patients who underwent physical examination in our hospital were recruited as the health group. There was no significant difference in the sex,age and course of disease between the acupuncture group and the western medicine group before the treatment. The western medicine group was given desloratadine citrate disodium tablets,8.8mg each time,1 times a day.The acupuncture-drug groups were treated with electro-acupuncture on the basis of western medicine group(acupoints:Qu Chi,He Gu,Xue Hai,Yin Ling Quan, both were bilateral acupoints, and also according to the pruritus site added and subtract),1 times a day,30 minutes each time, and two groups were treated for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks of treatment, the improvement of clinical symptoms in the two groups was observed and the effect was evaluated. At the same time, the effect of combined use of acupuncture and medicine on the balance of Th1/Th2 in patients with senile skin pruritus was investigated.Result:(1)After 2 weeks of treatment, the total symptom score of the acupuncture-drug group and the western medicine group were lower than that before the treatment, but the acupuncture-drug group was significantly lower than the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)The total clinical effective rates of acupuncture-drug group and western medicine group were 88.9% and 84.2% respectively, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),The total clinical effective rates of the two groups were 72.2% and 36.8%respectively(P<0.05).(3)The content of IL-2 in the patients' serum was higher than that of the healthy group before and after treatment, and the content of IL-10 before treatment was lower than that in the healthy group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the IL-10 and the healthy group after treatment(p>0.05).(4)There was no significant difference in serum IL-2 and IL-10 between the acupuncture-drug group and the western medicine group before treatment(P>0.05).(5)After treatment for 2 weeks, the serum IL-2 in the acupuncture-drug group and the western medicine group decreased compared with that before treatment, but the acupuncture-drug group was significantly lower than that in the western medicine group(P<0.05),The levels of IL-10 in serum were higher than those before treatment, but there was a significant difference between acupuncture-drug group and western medicine group(P<0.05).(6)Safety assessment:No significant adverse reactions and clinical biochemical changes were observed after treatment.Conclusion:(1)The total effective rate of acupuncture-drug group and western medicine group was similar in treating senile skin pruritus(blood deficiency and wind-dryness type),but the total effective rate of acupuncture-drug group was better than that of western medicine group.(2)The total improvement of symptoms in acupuncture-drug group in senile skin pruritus was better than that in western medicine group.(3)Acupuncture combined with medicine can treat senile skin pruritus and relieve itching,It may be achieved by correcting the imbalance of Th1/Th2.
