Objective:To explore the abnormal expression of SATB1 and Ki-67 protein in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma(ICC)and adjacent tissues, show the correlation between SATB1 and Ki-67 protein and the clinicopathologic significance of those proteins in the occurrence and development of ICC.Methods:76 cases of ICC paraffin specimens were collected from the Department of general surgery of the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University from June 2012 to June 2017,and the adjacent tissues(2cm or more to the tumor margin and no tumor cells were confirmed by pathology)was used as the control group. The clinical data and pathological parameters of selected patients were complete. All patients were not given chemotherapy, radiotherapy or other adjuvant therapy before operation.EnvisionTM immunohistochemistry(IHC)was chosen to detect the expression of SATB1 and Ki-67 protein in selected pathological specimens.SPSS 22.0 software combined with clinical data was used to analyze.Results:1?SATB1 protein was mainly expressed in the nucleus. The positive expression rate of SATB1 protein was 61.84%(47/76)in the ICC group and 23.68%(18/76)in the adjacent tissue group(control group). The expressions of the two groups was different and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The up-regulated expressions of SATB1 protein was correlated with vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage(P<0.05),but were not associated with sex, age, tumor differentiation, tumor diameter, hepatitis B virus infection and intrahepatic choledocholithiasis in ICC patients(P>0.05).2?Ki-67 protein was mainly expressed in the nucleus. The positive expression rate of Ki-67 protein was 75.00%(57/76)in the ICC group and 14.47%(11/76)in the adjacent tissue group(control group). The expressions of the two groups was different and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The up-regulated expressions of SATB1 protein was correlated with tumor differentiation, tumor diameter, vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis and TNM stage(P<0.05),but were not related to sex, age, hepatitis B virus infection and intrahepatic choledocholithiasis in ICC patients(P>0.05).3?By Spearman analysis, the expression of SATB1 and Ki-67 protein was positively correlated in ICC tissues(r=0.235,P=0.041<0.05).Conclusions:1?The expression of SATB1 in the ICC group was significantly higher than that in the control group. The positive expression rate of SATB1 in the cancer tissues of ICC patients increased gradually with vascular invasion and the increasing of the metastatic lymph nodes number and the TNM stage, which suggesting that it may promote the occurrence and development of ICC.2?The expression of Ki-67 in the ICC group was significantly higher than that in the control group. The positive expression rate of Ki-67 in the cancer tissues of ICC patients increased gradually with the tumor diameter enlargement, the lower tumor differentiation degree, vascular invasion and the increasing of the metastatic lymph nodes number and the TNM stage, which suggesting that it may promote the occurrence and development of ICC.3?The expression of SATB1 and Ki-67 in the cancer tissues of ICC patients was positively correlated. The Ki-67 expression of ICC tissues with high expression of SATB1 were also high, which suggested that up-regulated of SATB1 expression may lead to the up-regulation of Ki-67 expression, thereby promoting the occurrence and development of ICC.
