Correlation Between Patellar Height And Knee Joint KSS Score After Total Knee Arthroplasty

Objective: To investigate the relationship between the patellar height and KSS score after total knee arthroplasty(TKA).Method: In this study,61 patients(66 knees)undergoing total knee arthroplasty in our hospital from 2015 to 2016 were followed up.The patellar height index was measured by photographing the patient’s lateral X-ray of the knee joint and the KSS score was used to evaluate the knee joint.The measured data were statistically analyzed to evaluate the correlation between the patellar height and KSS score after total knee arthroplasty.Result: According to the measured data,the preoperative Modified Insall-Salvati index was 1.35 ± 0.15.The Modified Insall-Salvati index at 12 weeks after operation was 1.39 ± 0.18.The difference between the preoperative and postoperative Modified Insall-Salvati index was 0.04 ± 0.03.TKA patellar height index increased.KSS score of preoperative patients was 53.84 ± 13.02,KSS score was 68.47 ± 12.01 at 12 weeks after operation.KSS scores of knee joint after TKA were significantly increased.Postoperative Modified Insall-Salvati index(0.8-1.5)was positively correlated with postoperative KSS scores.Postoperative Modified Insall-Salvati index(>1.5)was inversely related.From the description of the statistics,it can be seen that the KSS score of patients with postoperative Modified Insall-Salvati index was significantly higher than those of patients with a KSS score higher than 1.5.Conclusion: Patellar height was correlated with KSS score.Preoperative knee arthroplasty can be assessed by measuring the patient’s KSS score using the Modified Insall-Salvati Index.For the TKA accurate osteotomy,select the appropriate prosthesisto,get appropriate knee flexion and extension gap provides a reference.
