Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of different concentrations of sodium salts on gastrointestinal motility,digestion-absorption function in rats and find the optimal concentration of the intervention,to study the role of angiotensin II during the process. Methods: The clean SD rats were selected to the first part of the experiment. The rats of different groups were administered randomly with 0.25%,0.5%,1%,2%,4% concentrations of Na Cl solution respectively and normal control group. The digestion-absorption function was evaluated based on food intake, body fat, digestive efficiency and body weight. The gastrointestinal motility was evaluated based on small intestinal propulsion rate.Keep tracking motilin, vasoactive intestinal peptide, and angiotensin II at the same time.Observing and studying the effects of different concentrations of Na Cl solution on gastrointestinal motility, and digestion-absorption function in rats to find the optimal dosage of Na Cl solution for gastrointestinal motility disorders model. Moreover, based on the optimal dosage got from first-experiment,the rats was replicated and administered with angiotensin II to compare with the rats without intervention on food intake, body fat, digestive efficiency, body weight, small intestinal propulsion rate, motilin and vasoactive intestinal peptide. Results: First part experiment: 1.The digestion-absorption function was evaluated based on food intake, body fat, digestive efficiency and body weight. The food intake of rats in each concentration of Na Cl solution increased in early period and had no significant change after. The rats in the 2% concentration of Na Cl solution group had dramatically lower food intake than the normal control group. The body fat of different experimental groups was decreased from the beginning, and the change in 2% Na Cl solution group was the most obvious when compared with normal control group(p<0.05).The fecal acid steatocrit increase was most obvious in the 2% Na Cl solution group among all the experimental groups, and the change is non-ignorable when compared with normal control group(p<0.05).Body weights of rats with 0.25%,0.5%,and 1% concentrations of Na Cl solution increased from all the time, but there were no noteworthy changes with normal control group. The weight of rats in the 2% concentration of Na Cl solution group showed a non-neglectful decreasing trend.2.The gastrointestinal motility was evaluated based on small intestinal propulsion rate. The propulsive proportion of small intestine of all experimental groups was decreased differently, and 2% Na Cl solution group was decreased dramatically, when compared with normal control group(p<0.05).3.The plasma motilin level of all experimental groups have been decreased differently, and 2% Na Cl solution group presented the downward trend all the time, when compared with normal control group the downward trend cannot be ignored(p<0.05).The plasma VIP level in all test groups was changed varying degrees, the change in 0.25% and 2% Na Cl solution groups was non-neglectful,when compared with normal control group the statistical significances is distinctly different(p<0.05).The plasma Ang II levels in all groups was changed varying degrees, the 2% Na Cl solution group changed distinctly different when compared with normal control group(p<0.05).4.The small intestine structure was intact in all of experimental groups and no pathological changes were found.5.All the rats in 4%Na Cl group died in about 2 weeks, and failure to meet the scheduled experimental time.Second part experiment: 6.The digestion-absorption function was evaluated based on food intake, body fat, digestive efficiency and body weight. There were no obvious changes after administered with angiotensin II with 2% Na Cl solution, while the total food intake amount was lower than normal group. The body fat of 2% Na Cl solution group has been increased since giving with angiotensin II,and the change is non-ignorable when compared with non-intervention group(p<0.05).After administered with angiotensin II with 2% Na Cl solution group, the fecal acid steatocrit was decreased significantly when compared with non-intervention group(p<0.05).There was an increase in body weight of 2% Na Cl solution rats after administered with angiotensin II.7.The gastrointestinal motility was evaluated based on small intestinal propulsion rate. The propulsive proportion of small intestine of 2% Na Cl solution group has been increased since giving with angiotensin II,and the change is non-ignorable when compared with non-intervention group(p<0.05).8.The plasma motilin levele of 2% Na Cl solution group has been increased since giving with angiotensin II,and the change is non-ignorable when compared with non-intervention group(p<0.05).The plasma vasoactive intestinal peptide level of 2% Na Cl solution group has been decreased since giving with angiotensin II,and the change is non-ignorable when compared with non-intervention group(p<0.05).Conclusions: 1.The 2% Na Cl solution can significantly inhibit gastrointestinal motility.2.The 2% Na Cl solution can significantly inhibit digestion-absorption function3.The 2% Na Cl solution has influences on motilin and vasoactive intestinal peptide and angiotensin II on rats.4.Angiotensin II may participate in the control of gastrointestinal motility and digestion-absorption function in rats with 2% Na Cl solution.
