Objective:Study the changes of sympathetic skin response(SSR)in patients with different types of cervical spondylosis(CS),and explore the clinical value of SSR in the diagnosis of autonomic nerve dysfunction of CS patients.Method:94 patients diagnosed as cervical spondylosis are collected. All patients meet the diagnostic criteria of the third session of the 2008 National Symposium on cervical spondylosis:(1).Cervical intervertebral disc and/or intervertebral joint degeneration;(2).Involvement of the surrounding tissue;(3).Corresponding clinical manifestations;(4).Corresponding imaging changes.DR and/or cervical MRI examination are performed on all cervical spondylosis, with the exception of peripheral and central nerve injury patients, patients with Parkinson's disease, cerebral infarction, cerebral hemorrhage, diabetes, depression, anxiety, insomnia, patients over the age of 70 patients(can not waveform),is not willing to cooperate with check etc.All patients are subjected to electrical stimulation of the left median nerve under the same conditions. The SSR data of patients are recorded, and the results are compared with the normal reference values of Peking Union Medical College Hospital. The comparison of all types of cervical spondylosis is carried out to find the SSR characteristics.Results:1.SSR abnormalities can be occured in all types of cervical spondylosis.SSR latency period extended and amplitude reduction is more significant in Sympathetic Cervical Spondylosis(SCS).the difference among all types of cervical spondylosis is statistically significant(P<0.05).2.SSR of different types of CS has its own characteristics.Comparison with reference value:(1).The characteristics of SSR in SCS is latency period extended and amplitude reduction, the difference is statistically significant(P<0.01).(2).The characteristics of SSR in Vertebral Artery Type of Cervical Spondylosis(CSA)is latency period extended in upper limbs and amplitude reduction in upper limbs and lower limbs, the difference is significant(P<0.05).(3).The characteristics of SSR in Cervical Spondylotic Radiculopathy(CSR)is amplitude reduction in upper limbs and lower limbs, the difference is statistically significant(P<0.01).(4).The characteristics of SSR in Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy(CSM)is amplitude reduction in upper and lower limbs, the difference is statistically significant(P<0.01).3.According to the abnormal rate, the proportion of autonomic nerve injury in CS can be inferred: SCS>CSM>CSA>CSR,the difference is statistically significant(X2=35.98,P<0.0001).4.SCS has the lowest waveform extraction rate in SSR,the difference of waveform extraction rate between different types of Cervical spondylosisis is significant(p<0.05).Conclusions:1.SSR abnormalities can be occured in all types of Cervical spondylosis.Compared with the reference value, different parts and forms SSR latency period extended and amplitude reduction can be elicited in all types of Cervical spondylosis.Compared with different types of Cervical spondylosis,SSR latency period extended and amplitude reduction is more significant in SCS.2.SCS has the highest abnormality rate and the lowest waveform extraction rate in SSR,and the autonomic nerve injury is more serious in patients with SCS.
