Applicability Of The Different Methods In Nutritional Assessment In Patients With Alveolar Echinococcosis(AE)

Objective: Nutritional status were evaluated by MNA,NRS2002 and SGA,and the author tried understanding the characteristics and extent of malnutrition in patients with primary AE.And then chose the more suitable program by analyzing and comparing the efficacy between the three general comprehensive nutritional assessment tools and their correlation with traditional single indexes which will act as a reference for clinical application.Methods: A total of 64 cases of AE hospitalized in Qinghai University Affiliated Hospital from March 1,2017 to October 1,2017,and collecting information(within 48-72 hours)after admission with self-made questionnaire.Nutritional status were evaluated by traditional individual indicators,MNA,NRS2002 and SGA,and consistency between each nutritional evaluation tools were compared.Finally,we determined the suitable screening program for patients with AE.Results:(1)In terms of each traditional single index,the malnourished incidences were as follows: AMC(70.31%)、TSF(42.19%)、BMI(20.31%)、Alb(56.25%)、HGB(26.56%)and TLC(59.38%).(2)MNA、NRS2002 and SGA method indicted 79.69%、56.67% and 20.31% nutrition risk rate of the patients.(3)(We found)significantly different positive rate was on results tested by the three groups.(4)There was a difference on AMC,BMI,Alb and HGB between groups created by MNA method except TSF and TLC.Significance was found of traditional single indexes between groups divided by NRS2002 method except Alb.There was a difference on TSF,Alb,HGB and TLC between groups created by SGA method except AMC and BMI.We found positive correlation between MNA score and AMC,HGB,while no correlation was found between MNA score and TSF,BMI,Alb,TLC.The Negative correlation coefficients of NRS2002 and AMC,TSF,BMI,HGB,TLC were between-0.672 and-0.277(P< 0.05).Conclusion: MNA,NRS2002 and SGA did not agree on the nutritional assessment results of AE patients.The correlation between the NRS2002 method and the traditional single index is better than that of the MNA and SGA methods.So NRS2002 is more reliable for evaluating the nutritional status of AE patients compared with MNA and SGA.
