Objective: To establish an early and rapid method for the detection of IgM antibodies against Hantavirus in serum of patients with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS).Methods: Colloidal gold particles labeled purified recombinant Hantavirus nucleoprotein (rNP) and sprayed them to fiberglass as combination pad. Goat anti-human?chain antibody will be immobilized to the nitrocellulose membrane as test lines, incised mouse anti-hantavirus antibody as a quality control area and assembled them according to a certain sequence and incised into lateral test strips. The new test strips and IgM capture ELISA test kit used to detect 52 patients with HFRS and 30 serums of normal persons to assess their specificity and sensitivity. Results: (1)The detection usually accomplished within 10-15 minutes after accession. (2)Of 52 patients with HFRS, both methods show that 50 were positive and 0 negative. Normal samples were negative. The results were in good agreement with each other and the detection rate was 96.15%.Conclusion: The results in Colloidal gold immunochromatographic test strips and ELISA Kit shows highly concordance. They can be used effectively in the early diagnosis and monitoring of patients with HFRS. The simple and rapid performance, the lack of need for special laboratory equipment make it possible to use in primary health care units and hospital outpatient units and suitable for the application of a greater promotional value.
