Wu Jianning is an excellent TV documentary director who works for Nanjing Television Broadcast Company. Even though dominated by national ideology, he insist on talking to the era with his work, which loaded with history and cultural sedimentation has achieved considerable success. He does the excellent job for processing the in-system grand theme, explore a national ideological propaganda mode which could maintain the balance of government control, director's art creation and common people's recognition. Thus, his work enrich the connotation of national ideology, and provides reference of domestic's television documentary which present rigid moral education.This thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter mainly elaborates how the national ideology theory provide theoretical basis and the background of Wu Jianning's television documentary. The second chapter analyses the text from three aspects:subjects, themes, and audio-visual language, firstly from the aspects of revolutionary and modernity; secondly from the aspects of position, connotation and structure; thirdly from image language and sound language trying to untangle the ideology embodied in Wu Jianning's television documentary. The third chapter analysis the strategy skills of transmit the national ideology which heading in Wu Jianning's documentary strategy skills. It's helpful to construct the national ideology and to provide some reference and put forward some reasonable suggestions for setting up the national image projects. This thesis aims to explore its artistic creation of profit and loss, and wish China's main melody TV documentary have a great development and breakthrough.
