Leni Riefenstahl(Leni Riefenstahl) is a dancer, actress, director, writer, photographer and so on. She is famous for a German Nazi Party propaganda film triumph of the will in the world, and then shot Olympic Games documentary Olympia---a modern sports documentary of the Bible in 1936 in Berlin, Germany. The fate of the talented female director has been changed since the World War Ⅱ. After the war, she was sent in prison several times for political reasons. Her works are controversial and despised by anti-war activists. In her old age, she defended for herself by writing. But her photography works the Nuba was named the "continuation of fascist aesthetics" by photography literary critic Susan Sontag. Starting with Riefenstahl’s life and combining her documentary films with photography, this paper tries to analyze the influence of Riefenstahl’s spiritual world construction on her works of ideology, using the inductive method, example method, text and interdisciplinary study methods. With the research of aesthetic strategies in Riefenstahl’s main works, this paper explores the characterization of political aesthetics in her record images. The classic text "triumph of the will " and "Olympia" and photography Nuba are studied to research the value system of political aesthetic in Riefenstahl’s films.The first chapter is the introduction part, studying comprehensively the research achievements about Riefenstahl at home and abroad. On this basis, this paper establishes its theoretical basis, research goal and significance. At the same time, the research contents, research ideas, research methods and innovations are also briefly introduced.The second chapter is the exploration of Riefenstahl’s spiritual world, and analyzes the causes of ideological construction in her works. According to the social and historical analysis in the German Nazi period, as well as the effect of the aesthetics of film on political aesthetics, it aims to study a change from subjective consciousness to political aesthetics.The third chapter is starting with the aesthetic strategy of Riefenstahl’s works, studying the way of Riefenstahl’s expression by means of literature research and text analysis. Then, analyzing the characteristics of audio-visual language and theme in her works, the important role of Riefenstahl’s aesthetic strategy research in the political propaganda movies is researched.Regarding Riefenstahl ’s classic text as the starting point, the fourth chapter combs the characteristics of political aesthetics in Riefenstahl’s work by exemplification and case analysis. In addition, the effect of her works on the continuation of "fascist aesthetics" is studied from analyzing the internal structure to combing among her works.The conclusion part is the summary of the thesis. Based on it, a brief analysis of the important position of Riefenstahl in the movie history of world record is given.
