The Chinese modern opera Red Guards on Honghu Lake is based on a true story that Han Ying and Liu Chuang lead the Red Guards against enemies in Honghu district Hubei province during the summer of 1930. As one of the best Chinese modern opera classics, it is still popular after being adapted and rendered time after time. There are several arias utilized in vocal music learning and performance in this opera. Three versions of Red Guards on Honghu Lake by Yuzhen Wang, Danli Liu and Qingshuang Wang are various in singing mode, processing details and so on. These three characteristic adaptions bring along the colorful charisma of Red Guards on Honghu Lake.The essay analysis the three versions of Red Guards on Honghu Lake through making research on singing processing, features of creators in chief, background of director, comprehension of opera and aesthetic evaluation.
