Bei Cun enters the literary world with the posture of the vanguard. Because of a spiritual crisis, Bei Cun has chosen to convert to Christianity and begun the narrative in the context of religion. The importance of his novels has been paid more and more attention.After reading through Bei Cun's novels, I've found that he combines his faith and creation,the holy narrative and the pursuit of his individual value. His style presents a unique feature.The thesis analyzes the style and the culture from the perspective of narrative, not only pay attention to the form of the text, but also the writer's personality psychology and the sense of style. Studying on the deeper cultural connotation and the aesthetic significance.The thesis is divided into three parts including the stylistic feature of the holy narrative,its cultural meanings and the relationship of them.The introduction defines the concept of style and the holy narrative.Discussing the transition from the vanguard creation to the holy narrative.Chapter Two discusses the way of Bei Cun how to establish his holy narrative. First of all, the theme of sin and love comes from the Bible. For the sin of one man, everyone loses the poetic dwelling, and all the sufferings and troubles are therefore associated with human.But on the other hand, since God so loves the world, human beings could have the possibility of being rescued. Secondly, discussing from the perspective of the narrative structure. He learns the structure from the Bible which called the U type structure:Paradise-Fallen-Crucifixion-Repentance-Saved. On the other hand, he also tries to bulid a five-dimensional space of divinity by use of the narrative person, the narrative perspective,the narrative rhythm, the narrative language and other narrative ways. He affirms the existence of the spiritual dimension. Observing on the height of God, thus to make a more profound understanding of human nature. His narrative practice therefore is endowed with the meaning of scared.Chapter Three discusses the cultural meanings of Bei Cun's novels.In his view of value,he's always longing for perfection. The pursuit of perfection has formed a huge cultural metaphor, trying to construct a poetic homeland. The poetic homeland reflected in three aspects.In the aesthetic sense, the pursuit of the poetic world is nor decadent, but clean,noble and bright. From the aspect of spiritual course, he created the images of saints and the wicked. By comparing the two spiritual journey, he reflects the spirit of the current social situation. From the cultural perspective, In the face of despair, not to decadent accept nor cruel reject, but to go beyond it. Bei Cun has established the only way to salvation which called the spirit of beyond.Chapter Four points out the advantages and disadvantages of Bei Cun's narrative pursuit and its cultural values. Although his divinity writing is a meaningful expression in the value of chaos in the post modern context, due to the differences in the structure of Chinese and Western cultures and the defects in his creation, the subjectivity spirit doesn't fit well with his texts. The cultural function is too heavy to bear. It's too hard to resonate for those who have no religious experience. Due to the cultural differences in structure and the limitation of the method of propagation of Christianity, Christianity has got many aspects of the boycott in China. That's also the reason why there is no better development of Christian literature in China.Bei Cun's divinity writing is a bold attempt in Chinese local experience, but the advantages and disadvantages are obvious. He criticizes our traditional culture and the survival status of us in the Christian context. Although his view is certainly innovative and sharp, his creation still has room for improvement about how to make the faith match perfectly with the creation. Learning the essence of the Christian culture dialectically, thus to combine with our traditional culture.
