The Research Into Plato’s Theory Of The Soul

Plato’s soul concept is an important part of his ideological system.The immortality of the soul is his lifetime philosophical creed and firm belief. In his view, the soul is an existence that is more important than kindness and virtues.All the people’s actions should surround the immortality of the soul. The immortal soul appears before the existence of the body, and the immortal soul has already had much wisdom before it is connected with the body.The soul won’t disappear when the body disappears,instead,it is an immortal existence.The soul exists in the transmigration of this life and the afterlife.The souls have different destinations in the transmigration of this life and the afterlife. Some enter the beautiful Heaven to live with gods. Some come into the hell. Which destination the soul will reach depends on what it does in this life when it is connected with the body. The souls that have noble quality and have virtues of bravery 、moderation and integrity can go into Heaven,while those that are sinful and mean will be sent into the hell to accept all kinds of punishments.To obtain immortal sublimation, the soul should try to polish its self-cultivation in this life when it is connected with the body so that the soul can sublime in the afterlife.This research consists of three parts.The first part is the introduction. It introduces the reasons for choosing the topic 、the research meaning and the present research status and research methods、research frame and the importance and difficulties of the research.The second part consists of the second、the third and the fourth chapters. And it is the main part of this paper. And it states the immortal soul 、the transmigration of this life and the afterlife and the destination of the soul depends on its behaviors in this life. It points out that Plato not only cared about the immortal soul, but also emphasized that people should promote their moral cultivation with his soul concept.The third part is the conclusion.It promotes and concludes the research basing on the preamble.
