A Study On The Texture In The Piano Accompaniment Of Mendelssohn's Songs Without Words

�Song without words�,as an ingenious musical genre pioneered by Mendelssohn,plays a critical role in the piano pieces and treasure trove of music literature.And with Mendelssohn's special creating mode and consummate skill,�Song without Words� is favored by the world.This thesis makes a study on the piano texture of Songs without Words,which consists of the introduction,four main chapters and the conclusion.The introduction is aim to state the reason of the selected topic,the research situation of the related areas,the research purpose and the significance,research methods,and the expected accomplishments of the paper.The four main chapters,as the main body,make a study in the following aspects: Chapter One makes an introduction to the life of Mendelssohn and his Songs without Words;Chapter Two is about the application of the harmony and the texture,including characteristic application of the harmony of Mendelssohn's Songs without Words and his classification of the levels of texture;Chapter Three makes an analysis of the various patterns of the main theme texture,especially for these harmonic background part and the bass in the accompaniment.The harmonic background part can be classified into the dependent harmony voice part,the harmonic harmony voice part,the melodic harmony voice part;the bass can be classified into the fundamental harmonic bass,the progressive bass,etc;Chapter Four is about the analysis of the polyphonic texture,including mimicking and contrasting the application of the polyphonic texture.Through the above analysis and study,it is beneficial to know about the style of the composer clearly and understand the texture morphology of music pieces deeply,and thereby make a deeper interpretation of inner music emotion of the composer so as to enhance self-cultivation about performing the various texture morphology.The result of the thesis can be an example and a reference to the performance or teaching.
