At the juncture of Ming and Qing Dynasties, the replacement of dynasties became the irreversible historical trend with the social contradictions deepening and the political and the national crisis breaking out. Born in this period, as a surviving adherent of Ming, Chuan Shan joined in the royal court for many times in order to help the country and save the nation from peril. After failing at the royal court, he engaged in a broader academic and cultural field, and finally formed his unique style, leaving many unique works in Yi, history and philosophy.Chuan Shan researched Yi deepest in academic, and obeyed the principle and idea of Yi all of his life. Regarding the spirit of Yi as the fundamental to settle down,he continually studied Iching for 40 years. Among Chuan Shan's numerous works on Yi, Zhouyi Neizhuan Fali, as an attachment of Zhouyi Neizhuan, is his last work on Zhouyi. Although it is an attachment, the writing of Fali has its own characteristics no matter in the content or in the form. In the content, its writing goes on with two clues:the historical view of Zhouyi and the image-numerology and divination; while in the form, it uses the expression way of "total- points- total”, and many interpretation principles like the unity of logic and history, comparative analysis and example analysis, and reasoning by historical facts. In terms of the history of the Yi, Chuan Shan insists on the historical view of Yi“divination – study- divination” from the overall perspective. He not only instructs on the whole the characteristics of Yi study in several representative periods of the development history of Yi, such as the pre-Qin, Han, Wei and Jin, and Song Dynasties, but also focused its criticism on viewpoints of several primary Yi learners, for example, Jing Fang's view of guaqi guabian, and wuxing najia, Shao Yong's innate theory and Zhu Xi's view “Zhouyi is a book of divination”.In image-numerology and divination, Chuanshan starts with "Si Sheng follow the same principles” and his basic understanding on “to speculate the order of nature to learn human rules” in Zhouyi and explains his perspective of image-numerology and divination. Chuanshan does not oppose the image-numerology and divination, but believes that these two are indispensable parts of Zhouyi and the role of Yi and Li appearance on Zhouyi played by these two needs to been correctly seen. In Fali,Chuanshan reiterates the principle in image-number that the Eight Diagrams comes into being based on Hetu, Tuan is consistent with Yao, and puts forward his ownviewpoint of guabian; in divination, he defines the nature of the divination, and he is against the Zhu Xi's judgment method of Gua, and proposes the principle of explaining the divination results like " Dong Yao "," Xiang Zhan”.Fali is the highly condensed crystallization of Chuanshan's thought on Yi, and is also a summary of his research on Zhouyi all his life. It affords a shortcut for us to grasp the core of Chuan Shan's thought on Yi and also for us to understand the history of Zhouyi. In addition, it can be seen as a "Feuerbach's Outline" of Chuan Shan's thought on Yi to some extent.
