The Study Of Yang Sheng's Later Poems

YangShen, the first of "three gifted scholar in Ming dynasty", is famous for his profound knowledge, playing an important role in Literature development in the middle and late Ming dynasty because of his demotion life in Yunnan province. However, the academic research on his works especially his later poetry is not comprehensive enough. Through studying Yang's later poetry, the thesis majors in the poetry theory, concepts, composing characteristics and the school of Six Dynasties.This Paper is divided into the following four parts:The first chapter mainly studies the Yang's later poetic views, through the analysis of his poetical talks, poetic preface, poetry, etc. By combining Yang's poetic viewpoints of the earlier and the later periods and that of the school of seven writers, this part intends to analyze Yang's eclectic concepts and poetic viewpoints of emphasizing on ingenuity and his passions on the Six Dynasties.Through the study of Yang's later poetry, the second chapter aims at analyzing its main concepts in combination with historical background and his personal experiences. Because of exiling, Yang's later poetry mainly expresses his emotional fluctuation, missing to hometown and love for landscape of Yunnan.Late in the third chapter, a thorough analysis must be made to explore the characteristics of Yang's later poetry by research on emotional reflection,artistic conception of poetry and language research. Yang's later poetry features in sincere feelings, implicit expression and simple and beautiful language.According to the description of the fourth chapter, Yang Shen brought his poetic viewpoints of six dynasties to Yunnan because of exiling, exerting a significant effect on Yunnan scholars. Yang shen made a number of friends and organized various literary activity in Yunnan. This chapter mainly studies the development of six dynasties in in Yunnan, by research on friends, places of visiting and literary activities. The period of Yang's visiting and traveling can be divided into two parts:the main place of earlier period is Yunnan featuring with focusing on Yang's communication with six scholars from Yang Family, and that of the later period is Sichuan with focusing on Yang's communication with Xi literary community.Through the overall grasp of the Yang's later poetry, integrating his personal experiences and historical background, this thesis aims at giving a comprehensive analysis of Yang's poetic viewpoints, ideology content, composing characteristics and his influences on the development of the school of Six Dynasties.
