Study On The “Wu Yan Lv Zu” Of Yang Shen

Yang Shen is the nobility of literature during the mid-to-late Ming Dynasty,and Wu Yan Lv Zu is an anthology of five-character poems written by him when he was banished to Yunnan.In Ming Dynasty,due to mature industry of printing and the trend to the ancients,a great of anthologies of ancient poetry had sprung up.The poetic circle during that period,there were various poetic schools with different perspectives.In order to correct prejudice of honor Tang Dynasty and despise Six Dynasties and promote the proposition of Six Dynasties,Yang Shen chosen poems comfrom to Jinti rhythm in Six Dynasties and turned them to Wu Yan Lv Zu,which were regarded as the originator of five-character poems in Tang Dynasty.Proceeding from literature,it emphasized that poems in Tang Dynasty headed from poems in Six Dynasties.The article takes Wu Yan Lv Zu as object of study,and it can be divided into two parts.The first part is on literacy including three characters.The first character mainly study the Yang Shen's collecting thoughts of editing anthology.From perspectives of preface,notes on poems and chosen poems,it can be summarized that tracing,affection and gorgeous are basic ideas followed by him.The second character pays attention on the quantity of poems selection and case study,concerning poetical criticism embodied in Wu Yan Lv Zu.The third character analyzes its literal influence.It starts from effects on himself,then turn to role in promoting of poetic thoughts in Six Dynasties.At last,form angle of development of anthology in Six Dynasties,it analyzes influences of Wu Yan Lv Zu on development of anthology after Ming Dynasty Jia Jing from examples.The second part is on documents including five aspects of collating tasks.Firstly,eight versions of Wu Yan Lv Zu and its related conditions are teased.Secondly,in way of edition comparison and taboo,there is an conclusion that hand-copied Wu Yan Lv Zu is the edition in Ming Dynasty not in Qing Dynasty.Thirdly,it concerns the process of writing by elements of timing,place and motivation.Fourthly,on the base of version in 21 th years in Ming Dynasty and referring to hand-copied version,The Cream of Literary World,Collection of yuefu poems and so on,32 mistakes have been corrected concerning signature,age and repetition of collection.Finally,it have been verified that Yang Shen made corrections and deletion of 18 poems.
