A Research Of Ecological Thought Of Traditional Chinese Geomantic Culture

Geomantic culture,as a special form of culture in China,has received entirely different treatments for a long time.Some people regard geomantic culture as a thorough superstition.Besides,geomantic culture is regarded as feudal dross and social cancer,which must be abandoned without hesitation.They have contempt and disdain for geomantic culture.However,others regard geomantic culture as a scientific truth and the ideological essence,which should be adhered to and must be carried forward.They respect and worship geomantic culture greatly.The author thinks that traditional geomantic culture must contain reasonable factors and the value of existence so that it has been inherited and developed for thousands of years up to now.In particular,the environmental problems and ecological crisis becomes increasing prominent today,some “statecraft ideologies” leave people deep in thought.Thus,the author hopes to research traditional Chinese geomantic culture from the angle of ecological civilization,reasonably analyze the ecological thought of geomantic culture,deepen the reasonable analysis of ecological thought in traditional geomantic culture and reveal the ecological practice of traditional geomantic culture.What is more,the author analyzes the limitations of traditional geomantic culture from the angle of ecology and put forward to some opinions on how to make full use of ecological thought of traditional geomantic culture to remodel and utilize nature reasonably so as to man coexists with nature harmoniously.This paper is divided into four parts except introduction and conclusion.Part One briefly introduces the meaning,origin,developmental process and present situation of traditional geomantic culture so that people have a general understanding and cognition of traditional geomantic culture.Part Two mainly explains and analyzes the ecological thought of traditional geomantic culture.It also introduces the application of traditional geomantic culture idea in the cities,villages and residential location layout.Part Three discusses the modern value of traditional geomantic culture.After they suffer from the environmental problems and ecological crisis,people find out that many ecological thoughts of geomantic culture play a very important role in the harmony between man and nature,the unity of heaven and man as well as the sustainable development of society.In the fourth part,although geomantic culture contains abundant ecological thoughts with reference value,it still has some obvious limitations,such as its spontaneity,speculation and mystery.Therefore,people should treat traditional Chinese geomantic culture in a scientific,comprehensive,dialectic and rational way.As the product of Chinese long history,traditional geomantic culture is the valuable cultural heritage that the industrious and intelligent predecessors leave to their posterity.Traditional geomantic culture has some feudal superstitions and witchcraft,but its essence and marrow also glittering and can not be easily erased and arbitrarily denied.Our country explicitly points out in 13 th Five-year plan that our country must stick to be green rich country,promote green developmental pattern and lifestyle,learn to make use of nature in a abstemious and ordered way,and try to promote the harmonious coexistence between man and nature.So,with the construction of ecological civilization thriving continuously,It is a beneficial attempt and exploration that apply the abundant ecological thoughts and ideas derived from traditional geomantic culture to the great process of building beautiful and green China and realizing Chinese Dream.
