Shuilu paintings, are used in Shui-Lu rites which Buddhism held to release souls from purgatory and deliver all living creatures from torment. At present the world on the surface are more of the north paintings. Many temples, grottoes have such remains and they are very beautiful. But the southern paintings are very rare. Even they are considered does not exist by academia. In this paper, the one hundred and fifteen paintings are the southern region. They collected by my tutor professor Hu Binbin and China's village research center. In the book The Yangtze river basin folk cultural and art heritage is released two hundred and sixty eight copies. The rest of the paintings are not public. The article selects one hundred and fifteen paintings to research, provides new materials for academics.Due to materials shortage, there have little research about them. Many articles are from the perspective of art appreciation. I found that the paintings are no longer a delicate climb and they have the plot and story. So this article use the structure from assigned to total. The pictures are divided into two categories by emotion as Encouraged to be good and punishment the bad. The second chapter narrate the paintings of south are difficult to saved and all over the place. They are Buddhism pictures and mix all gods which peoples need, such as Taoism, shamanistic, Confucianism and so on. In the third chapter, I classified all paintings. They contain the basic code of ethics and related to secular morality. This is ignored by researchers. So I classified them to be nine classes and I found they are influenced by the secular life. They are attached to the local culture and they have the power of gods. So peoples cannot resist them. So their strength are huge and they have the function of education. These are the content of the fourth and fifth chapters. At the same time, in fifth chapter, I analyzed the effect of Shui-Lu rites. Because the paintings have education content and hanged in the ceremony, their education efficiency become largest. There have two conclusions:First, these paintings use Buddhist karma and charitable theory as the foundation of creation, so they are very clear in good and evil. So Shuilu paintings as a purely religious painting has common with secular moral and confirm the custom life, everyday ethics influence the Shuilu paintings' subject. Secend, because these paintings are religious paintings, so these ideas have unique characteristics. They In turn affect the secular morality. The karma of ethics rose to the point, to make people difficult to resist this binding, it also can purify atmosphere and have moral enlightenment significance.
