The Study Of Qing Dynasty Figured Numismatics's Decorative Art

‘Chinese Figured Numismatics' are a special branch of Chinese old numismatics,which are the unique numismatics believed by ancient people to use words and images with special lucky and clean meanings to suppress the evil,overcome bad luck and obtain good luck.They have these features and are not for circulation,which makes Chinese figured numismatics have higher artistic values than normal numismatics.They are also called ‘ancient copperplate etchings'.Chinese figured numismatics in Qing Dynasty have experienced the inheritance and development of two thousand years,which have more meaningful decorative images and abundant decorative contents.They cover every field of the social life and close to people's daily life.Their decorative art shows the folk culture,aesthetic ideas and nature thoughts,which has rich cultural meanings.Based on the papers about ancient numismatics and Chinese figured numismatics,this dissertation organizes their origins and development process,summarizes the basic functions of Chinese figured numismatics in Qing Dynasty.By using library based research and theoretical analysis method to combine with other related subjects' knowledge such as history and iconology,through the analysis of form language,decorative topics,decorative art structural layout and design treatment of Chinese figured numismatics in Qing Dynasty,it draws a conclusion that this kind of figured numismatics have the feature of public amusement.From the perspectives of traditional lucky culture and ancient philosophy,it analyzes the oriented influences of decorative art aesthetic ideas of these numismatics and discovers the folk culture,aesthetic ideas and nature thoughts behind the decorations.Finally,combined with the analysis and research of the previous text,it suggests that the utility of decorative art factors of Chinese figured numismatics in Qing Dynasty has benefits for modern visual design art from the demand connotation and cultural inheritance aspects.It uses living examples as objects to discuss this utility performance from ‘artistic forms' and ‘artistic contents' aspects.From the discussion above,the research on decorative art of Chinese figured numismatics in Qing Dynasty can help us to reproduce the charm of this historical relics,feel the excellent Chinese traditional culture and discover the aesthetic ideas in Chinese ancient arts.Their abundant cultural factors can help the design creators to develop thinking during visual communication design and provide a lot of artistic creation materials,which is good for them to design the epochal and unique works under the modern design background of seeking common points while reserving differences.
