This paper is based on the background of modern women's life culture,women's participation in modern graphic design as the research object.From the perspective of feminism and design,development context of scarce women designers,active women consumers,frequent guest(female image)is placed in the development of the history of modern graphic design,the female consumer demand and women's liberation thought as the main line,through theoretical study,case analysis and interdisciplinary analysis and research,trying to analyze how the modern Chinese graphic design and women reflect each other,trying to prove that "female participation" in modern times for the orientation of graphic design and promoting the development of design.In order to dig out some new unique or some hidden things,to promote the research of modern graphic design from the depth and breadth.The first chapter analyzes the background and opportunity of modern Chinese women's participation in graphic design.In 1843 the first Opium War ended,China became a semi colonial and semi feudal society,Shanghai and other places have been opened,the closed-door police is over,the modernization has begun.Promote the rise of modern Chinese graphic design,women's ideological emancipation,so as to provide the conditions for the modern women to participate in the graphic design.The second chapter is the inspiration of the theory of "women's center" criticism,on the modern women's participation in graphic design activities related to Literature and information to sort out,found scanty women as the main body of the phenomenon in graphic design,the cause of this phenomenon is gender issues.Meanwhile,raises that feminism provides a new,more open perspective for design research,in fact,in addition to the role of women in the role of the main designer,female participation in the form is multi-faceted.The third chapter is the main clue of modern women's ideological liberation,combing the historical development of the female images in the graphicdesign(portrait),analysis of the concept of gender equality in the perspective of multi dimension,tolerance and accumulation of female images in the graphic design of the period and how these images come into the modern Chinese graphic design.The fourth chapter mainly through the female consumer demand the female consumers to participate in the process as a clue to sort out the plane design,and exploring the influence of female consumption psychology,consumption concept and modern graphic design.The fifth chapter analyzes the female image as a design element in different types of graphic design in a variety of performance techniques,and influence on the layout of the whole design,the matching of the font or decorative elements.Finally,the influence of female participation is summarized,women's achievements to be sure,criticise the hidden behind the phenomenon of gender.At the same time,get a clear understanding of the changes of the modern Chinese women's role for the modern graphic design's promotion.
