The Inspiration To Modern Graphic Design That Brought By The Art Of Chinese Paper Cut

The art of Chinese paper cut has a long history, and it is a kind of folk art that derived from life and return to life. This kind of art is required by Chinese working people to meet their material and spiritual life, and existing, everywhere and anytime, in people's customs, daily life and religions. It is a carrier of the image of Folk Culture that combines the basic cultural foundation of the whole folk culture, therefore, it is also kind of treasure of modern graphic design and being exhaustible.The art of Chinese paper cut has close contact with modern graphic design, no matter on the external format or the internal cultural meanings. So this subject is aiming to relearn and explore the language factor in the art of Chinese paper cut, in order to rich the modern graphic design. The new idea of this thesis is to analyze from the angle of image language, colour language and combining with lots of case study to further explore the inspiration to modern graphic design that brought by the art of Chinese paper cut.This thesis contains five parts. The introduction mainly briefs the research foundation, content, method and meaning of the subject of the inspiration to modern graphic design that brought by the art of Chinese paper cut. The first chapter, talking about the reference and creativity of Chinese factors in Chinese modern graphic design that derived from Chinese paper cut. Firstly, brief introduce to Folk Paper Cut and clarify the concept, history of Chinese Folk Paper Cut, according to the literature and practical conclusion. Secondly, analyzing the root of lost of nationalization in graphic design'visual language and its internationalization. Lastly, summarizing the reference and creativity of Chinese factors in Chinese modern graphic design that derived from Chinese paper cut. The second and third chapters are the key parts of this essay. The second chapter first talking about the features of "Chinese Yi xiang character ", Chinese Yi xiang character, Casualness and Integrity of the image language in folk paper cut, In combination with the characteristics of the corresponding to clipart is "yi xiang" mould, image molding, the vertical-horizontal space-time method, form mold, association mold and tone and figure unification method, thus further find modern graphic designing theory to find both mutual infitration point, launched its revelation to modem graphic design;and then through the analysis of various ways of making image about the paper cut, this part finds the common interact point by combining the theory of modern graphic design, to find out the reference to modern graphic design. Then, this part also points out the application of image language methods of paper cut that using in the modern graphic design. The third chapter, at the beginning, it introduces about the fuatures of Symbolism, Decoration and Subjection of colour language of folk paper cut and combination with the characteristics of the corresponding author discusses the modem graphic design colour generated cryptical, temptation and affectivity, and then talking about the inspiration to modern graphic design. Then, it points out the application of several colour languages of paper cut that using in modern graphic design.
