This dissertation is based on the second language acquisition theories, together with the use of instrumental phonetics and language statistics examined the perception and the production of the four Mandarin lexical tones in monosyllabic and bisyllabic tones by the intermediate level of Chinese Donggan students. The performance of the listening tasks in both monosyllabic and bisyllabic tones revealed that their errors basically are almost the same, tone 4 and tone 1 respectively are the easiest tones to perceive, while tone 2 and tone 3 respectively are the most problematic and easily confused. Besides, the results of the production tasks also showed that tone 4 is the least problematic in both monosyllabic and bisyllabic tones. However, the students' errors mostly exhibited on the tonal ranges, not on the tonal patterns. In the monosyllabic tone, the range of tonel is lower, the onset of tone 2 is a bit lower, the offset of tone and the transition point of tone 3 are a bit lower, and the offset of tone4 is a bit lower than the native speaker's production. In the bisyllabic tone basically has the same error: the front and the latter syllable. Tonel of both syllables are equally lower than the target language;the front and the latter syllable of tone 2 are both lower, but the middle shows concave;the mid-falling-tone 3 in the front syllable is Compared with Mandarinr, the onset of the rising-tone 3(of the front syllable) is a bit lower;but the offset of the latter one rises again after a drop and the offset of tone4 of both syllables are a bit higher.Through the analysis of the second language acquisition theory and tonal errors generated by the main reason is as follows:(1) the transfer of mother tongue;(2) the universality of Chinese phonetic acquisition difficulties reflected;(3) tone feature points of tone acquisition effect;(4) Chinese tone knowledge negative migration;(5)the language environment influence and the teacher's misleading. In addition, from the intermediate level of Chinese Donggan overseas students in the tones of Chinese and dual tone acquisition process and the existence of the errors is proposed in this paper a tone corresponding teaching strategies:(1) emphasizes students' tone awareness and establish a student's tone system;(2) attention to adjusting and regulating domain difference, will adjust the domain of learning as a key;(3) to adjustthe tone teaching order and simplified Mandarin tone recognition system;(4) to improve the teaching and improve the teaching Chinese as a foreign language;(5)strengthen the practice monosyllabic tones, set up the callback mode;(6) The use of auxiliary teaching equipment and methods of experimental phonetics. I hope the conclusions and suggestions for teaching, can to the level of Donggan overseas students and teachers provide a reliable and scientific reference.
