The Garden Literature Research Of Ouyang Xiu

Under the national policy of the Song Dynasty — “emphasizing literature and restricting military force”, the political status and salary of literati had been improved tremendously,therefore, the literati gardens had gradually flourished as well as the poems in the Song Dynasty smelled a strong garden sentiment. Be keen on touring gardens as well as creating gardens by himself, Ouyang Xiu, as a grand master in literature field, the garden literature played an important role in his creations.With many special knowledge and methods such as bibliography, textology,statistics,etc, the article aims to carry out systematically a textual analysis to Ouyang Xiu's Garden literature as well as try to grasp the characteristics of the garden literature, excavate its garden meanings and cultural essence, research the influence it had exerted to the poems creation and customs of literati in Song Dynasty.The whole article consists of six chapters. Chapter one generally shows Ouyang Xiu's garden ideas and activities from the following aspects, including the overall thoughts of Ouyang Xiu —“harmony between man and nature ”, the garden creation rules —“adjust measures to local conditions” combining with aesthetic and practical goals, preference on the pavilion, bamboo, chrysanthemum, and tour?built gardens, etc. showing the overview of Ouyang Xiu's garden literature; As a result of Ouyang Xiu's gardening thoughts and gardening creation activities were mostly reflected in the gardening poems and with a large quantity(225 garden poems, 91 Song Verses and 25 garden proses), so the gardenpoems are the main research objectives of the article;The chapter two is about analysis to the garden poems, mainly including four categories: travels about touring historical sites?conveying subjects, entertaining with people, and respond or presentable poems for long-distance relationship; The chapter three is mainly research for the garden poem ci of Ouyang Xiu, which can be divided into two categories: poems to praise the scenery of garden and poems to make women background stand out;The Chapter four is about research of gardening prose, from idea and content view, it mainly consists of four categories:shows ideas about sharing happiness with people?conveying life philosophy?praising virtues of garden owners?advocating officials to be achievers;The Chapter five is about ideas and cultural connotations of Ouyang Xiu's garden literature. Guided by the idea of garden literature, Ouyang's gardening activities and gardening literatures, combining with culture of poetry?calligraphy?Chinese musical instrument?liquor?Chinese tea, had been set graceful examples for literati;The Chapter six talks about the influence of Ouyang Xiu's gardening literature,whose garden activities were always imitated by hisdisciples and posterities, creating an atmosphere of praising garden and creating garden from generation to generation, it had also promoted the development of Song poetries and the formation of literati custom in Song Dynasty as well as achieved the prosperity of garden literature.
