Through the phenomenon analysis of network self-photographing,the status analysis of outdoor training and the study of sandplay psychotherapeutic technique,the author defines the self from three aspects,compares Chinese and Western views of the self and searches positive and well-rounded self.As a matter of fact,inundant construction of the self is confined to the public in network self-photographing;and codes for outdoor training and given social role are the pressure arising from power and authoritative might;a kind of healthy relationship between people and the society as well as the relation between the balanced self and social roles can be seen in sandplay psychotherapeutic technique.The relation between the self and the society should be benign which achieves the self through proactive construction of social roles.However,excessive self-aggrandizement equals to complete socialization and excessive social constraint actually stimulates individual resistance.Thus,an equilibrium relationship for expression and rules should be established between people and the society.
