Studies On Chinese Character Usage In Leizhou Dialect

This paper studies the usage of characters in Lei zhou dialect. On the basis of learning from other predecessors and combine with local situation of the usage the characters,author try to fully demonstrate the characteristics of the usage of characters in Lei zhou dialect.Leizhou dialect is a sub-dialect of the Southern Min dialect,it consists of phonetic system,which is not so easy to analyse,with the existence of colloquial-literary.Furthermore,the Leizhou dialect remains a lot of phonetic characteristics of ancient Chinese even archaic Chinese.There are lots of especial dialect expressions,which make it a big difference to modern Chinese.Therefore,when the recorders of the local literature in the area record the colloquial and the oral language,they encounter many difficulties.Because they seem not find original characters to stand for.Therefore,they according to their own needs to replace the sounds with the characters by all means,a variety of ways,which is very inconsistent, lack of discipline.This paper is divided into five chapters. Chapter one introduces situations and phonetic system of Leizhou dialect.Chapter two present the sort of the usage of characters in Leizhou dialect.Chapter three describes feauture of the usage of characters. Chapter four studies Xundu,which focuses on the feauture of Xundu characters.Furthermore,we try to judge preliminary Xundu characters according to voice.Chapter five compares Leizhou with Southern Min Dialect. Chapter six summaries the full paper and points out the shortcomings of the paer.
