A Study On The Characters Of Small Towns In Dialect Movies

With the process of Reform and Opening,dialect movies with small town characters as the main performance objects appeared one after another.These films use dialects as the dialogue language,recounting the living conditions of the bottom edge characters with plain shots and naive narratives.These dialect films are rarely screened in domestic cinemas,but they have won numerous awards abroad.They are considered to be the most authentic Chinese records of an era,and these small town figures are also the most representative group of Chinese.The academic circles have begun to take shape in the study of dialect films,which has formed a certain breadth and depth of research.However,there are not many achievements in the study of small town movies,and most of them focus on the spatial narratives of small towns,specializing in small towns in dialect movies.The related topics of the characters are basically vacant,so this research topic has important academic value and profound practical significance.The main body of the full text consists of six chapters:In the first chapter,the main part is to sort out the domestic dialect movies and small town movies since the 1990 s,summarize the research status,and finds the fit between the dialect films and the small town figures.The second chapter begins with the concept definition and research scope of the dialect film,introduces its rise and development process,and then defines thesmall towns and the characters of small towns with the relevant theories of sociology,and determines the research object as the Small town figures in domestic dialect movies since the 1990 s.The third chapter mainly discusses the living environment of small town figures in dialect movies,including regional environment,language environment and social environment.The hometown of small towns has undergone changes and reconstructions,lifestyle,behavioral habits and social status have changed.When they are in disorderly and changeable cultural codes,the diversity and complex living environment changes directly affect the characters of small towns.The growth of small towns and people's public space entrusted with emotions is getting narrower.The fourth chapter combines psychological knowledge to analyze the emotional transformation of small town characters in the film: the helplessness of the survival in the gap,the breakdown of interpersonal relationship and the emotional contradiction,which led to the rebellious resistance of the characters in small towns,the venting of language and behavior became common.The means of venting,spiritual redemption has become its ultimate goal.The fifth chapter combines the previous living environment and emotional transformation,using text analysis and comparative analysis to explore the characters and causes of small towns constructed by dialect films.Small town figures can't quickly build their new identity in the times.The lack of identity leads to the loss of self in small towns.The unique small town cultural landscapes such as the era voice,graytone,and regional landscape are tightly wrapped in small town characters.The character image was also constructed.The sixth chapter draws the inspiration of the dialect film to shape the characters of small towns: the dialect can first make the audience form the identity of the characters,while the use of non-professional actors whose native language is local dialects opens up a broader aesthetic space for the film.The small town characters with different personalities let us see a simple and plain cultural tradition from the folk.In the real life,the characters of the small towns can also draw the enlightenment of life through these dialect films,and draw on the nutrition and strength to overcome the difficulties and meet the challenges,and grow up with the strength of a "live".It is hoped that this research can attract more experts and scholars,to pay their attention to the small town figures in the dialect films,and take care of the contradictions and conflicts that small towns face in the development process from a realistic perspective.We look forward to more excellent dialect films of small town figures on the Chinese silver screen in the future.
