Approaching Printmaking Texture To Illustration

Along with the change in times, printmaking, the ancient art technique, has become one of choices to mix various media. Artists preserve linear texture of printmaking and blend into other painting media, which makes traditional techniques launch a new era of style. Since the new technological revolution, as known as the age of computers, it has been necessary to combine printmaking works and computer technology. Artists bring novel experience and performance to color, level and texture by using computers. Printmaking, illustration, and commercial art are complement each other because they have the same features. If anything, printmaking emphasizes on depth and connotation, and illustration illumination is regarded as effective advertising and promotion strategy. They are just different orientation in research. Having been digging into illustration techniques for many years, I try to connect the tradition and innovation and hope to ignite my creative enthusiasm. Hence, in this research, with modern technology——digital painting, we are able to simulate the effect of printmaking. That greatly reduces complexity in processes and allows the printmaker to more easily draw. Adding computer technology to traditional approaches makes illustration not only pass on brilliant national art culture, but also connect modern design and creation. Old and new techniques of art combine to a unique style, developing neo-aesthetics. In further, they create a better sense of beauty with visual effect.
