This paper firstly introduced the basic Information of Hartmann and his later book Phenomenology of moral Consciousness(Ph?nomenologie des sittlichen Bewu?tseins) briefly. The first chapter mainly discussed the relationship between doctrine of moral sentiments and the Phenomenology of moral Consciousness. From Hartmann's view, moral which is provided with ethical can be divide into taste moral, sentiment moral and reason moral. The second chapter searched of the literature in various respects about every moral sentiments in Phenomenology of moral Consciousness—— selected Works in moral Sentiments, and investigated moral sentiment of sympathy deeply and reviewed the position of sympathy in all moral sentiments. Hartmann thinks that sympathy contains compassion and sympathy of happiness, and sympathy is considered to be a passive sentiment and it is the key point to change the self- interest's view. The third chapter reviewed the Arthur Schopenhauer's concept of compassion in the first place, and compared it with Hartmann's analysis of moral sentiment of sympathy, try to trace track of a clue of history of ideas from Arthur Schopenhauer to Eduard Von Hartmann. From Schopenhauer 's perspective, sympathy is only seen as compassion and is lack of sympathy of happiness, meanwhile Schopenhauer connect sympathy with his metaphysics, Hartmann only observe and study sympathy as a moral sentiment in philosophical psychology realm.
