In recent years, the development of China's film market is very fast Domestic box office growth rate reached 48.13% in 2015, this figure is very gratifying, and IP film adaptation share is getting heavier and heavier, especially in network IP adaptation. Meantime, It also created a lot of debate voice about IP film, critics contend that its vitality is weak. It reduces the artistic charm of the film, but advocates to emphasize its commercial properties, which can bring huge box office. Why IP movies so popular in China? What is the development path of it? What is film viewer's cultural interest in our country? Contrasting China and Hollywood, what's the similarities and differences on the development of IP? What policy we should adopt to develop IP film? To solve these problems, I have made an assay of data, documents and cases. As a result, I got some conclusions.This paper is divided into five main parts:The first part is introduction, mainly involved the research significance, research methods and research review in the paper.The second part is the overview of IP film adaptation. I have discussed the way to develop our country about movie industrialization policy, industrial policy and there are links between IP film adaptation. Combing the concept of IP film adaptation, combed the present situation of our country's IP film adaptation. And the film adaptation of the IP value are analyzed.The third part of the comparative analysis of Chinese and foreign IP film adaptation strategy, this paper analyzes the structure and pattern of the American film industry, American film IP legal protection issues and the diffuse pattern of comic book adaptations. By analyzing the American film industry structure and IP development concrete strategy, from the deep to analyzes the status quo, to IP film adaptation of China provides some experience and lesson.The fourth part for Transmedia storytelling of IP and IP film adaptation of cultural issues. This part mainly expounds the pop culture, culture and subculture relations with IP movie fans, and discuss the relationship between fans and movie, the relationship between fans and derivatives, the current domestic cultural classification of the IP problem. Focused on the domestic comedy movies and prick silk culture, development problems. Also discussed the prick silk culture and the relationship between the audience, the audience class problem.The fifth part is the conclusion part, this part is mainly discuss the IP film adaptation of the relationship between commercial and art. This part is mainly from the United States to the common development of commercial films and art films to support business and the arts can coexist. IP film adaptation of the huge box office earnings may to a certain extent, promote the film company or consortium funding for other types, multicultural films.
