Kadiriyah:the Spreading And Variation Of A Western Sufi Order In China

At the beginning of the 10 th century at the latest,the activities of Islamic sufis have spread to the west of China from Central Asia,this was the prelude that sufi spread in China.In 1674,a sufi missionary named Huazhe·Abudula arrived in Guangzhou by sea,then he taught the theories of Kadiriyah in Hunan,Hubei,Shanxi,Gansu and other places.Huazhe·Abudula laid the foundation of Kadiriyah in China by accepted three Chinese students.After a period of development,many branches of Kadiriyah have formed,such as Da Qubbah,Yang-sect,Guo Qubbah,Jiucaiping,Lingmingtang,Wenquanntang,Xiangyuantang,Qi-sect,A-sect,Tonggui and so on.Since Kadiriyah was brought into China,the integration with Chinese traditional culture became deeper and deeper,it has a significant difference with the other factions. Due to the influence of Chinese traditional culture,especially the influence of Taoism,Kadiriyah has changed a lot,not only the theories and the ideologies,but also the etiquttes of practice.It became a rather unique faction of Islamic Sufis and had its own cultural characteristics.The changes of the theories,the ideologies and the etiquttes of practice were the result of the collision between Chinese traditional culture and Islamic culture.
