Following thesis is based on the vocabularies of NCEA C hinese and New HSK. Thesis is divided into four chapters. First chapter consists purpose of the topic, review of relevant research as well as research methods. The following part focused on the reality of NCEA Chinese and New HSK test form. Second chapter is about the statistical results of vocabulary, including the data analysis of NCEA C hinese vocabulary and New HSK vocabulary. Third chapter is the comparative study of vocabularies between NCEA Chinese and New HSK. Fourth chapter provides the strategy of the NCEA Chinese vocabulary teaching and constructs the NCEA gaps of functional category. All these efforts is aim to provide a distinct vocabulary system to omissions NCEA Chinese vocabulary and propose own ideas to new HSK vocabulary. Finally, the content of the research indicates the inadequacies of the study and its future research area.Through a detailed comparative analysis of this two Chinese language tests, it points out the levels between NCEA C hinese and New HSK which have some relationships. However, it combines with the teaching and learning situation, which gives practical advice to the development of New HSK, as well as perfects the Chinese proficiency test.
